Game of Thrones is without doubt one of the biggest TV shows of all time. Based on George R. R. Martin’s Song of Ice and Fire book series, audiences went mad for the complex characters, the rich and intricate story telling, and just about everything that made up the world of Westeros.

While the show arguably dipped in quality as soon as the producers ran out of Martin’s source material, Game of Thrones was still one of the best shows around. The highly divisive season 8 may have tarnished this reputation slightly, but nothing can change the quality years produced before this.

IMDb’s user score provides an easy way to rank every one of Game of Thrones’ 73 episodes based on the opinion of the viewers rather than critics, and while most of these episodes are excellent, some are simply better than others.

To put this into perspective, an almost unbelievable score of 9.7 is required to make the top ten, demonstrating just how good Game of Thrones was.

For the purposes of this list, tie breakers are settled by the number of ratings for each episode, so while season four’s ‘The Children’ also earned a 9.7, its lower rating total drops it to 11th, just one spot off making the list.
