  1. Stains would have been for better off to have fought and lost than to have used blood magic to kill his kin
His morals where honorable but he could have had a chance to have won the iron throne if he would have made alliances through negotiations
Like working with king Rob the Dornish royal family
With out having to give up much of made him the best of all the contenders to sit on the iron throne his sense of honor justice and his strong urge desire to be the moral leader of his people
The throne was his by right as he claimed but Renly was also right to tell his brother that no one wanted him to be king
Stains instead of looking inward and putting thought into what his brother had told him took it as a insult which it was but when people close to you or foamy insult you there is usually some truth to what they have said that's why it stings more deeply than insults from those who barely know you
Catelyn Stark only spent a little while in Renly's camp and quickly come to the conclusion Renly was playing a king and had no ideas what war is truly is
If Stanis was as cunning as Tywin he would have realize his brother position was quite weak all he would have needed to do was break Ridley's Alliance with house Tyrell which by the queen of thorns mouth fighting is not a real strength of their family
With that bond broken the rebellious lords of the storms end would have fallen back into line
As we have seen great armies can be whittled away quiet quickly with poor planning and poor leadership
History his shown when leaders believe they can win quite easily because of the size of their armies
When Stains used blood magic he lost who he was and any chance of becoming a king

  2. Do you think stannis lending this life force is tapping into the same magic which runs beneath everything, and is also the what was tapped into by Davos's faith to bring Jon back from death? I could not find a better way to word this….. I don't believe there are gods, I am with you in the westeros permeating magic camp.

  3. 1. I love your videos 2. Another fact misses in the show is that King's blood isn't a requirement for shadow babies as Melisandre suggest to Davos that they make one and he declines.

  4. The Red God is not good it's always lying. “… or not.” Aemon chuckled softly. “Or I am an old man, feverish and dying.” He closed his white eyes wearily, then forced them open once again. “I should not have left the Wall. Lord Snow could not have known, but I should have seen it. Fire consumes, but cold preserves. The Wall… but it is too late to go running back. The Stranger waits outside my door and will not be denied. Steward, you have served me faithfully. Do this one last brave thing for me. Go down to the ships, Sam. Learn all you can about these dragons.” Arya says almost the same thing as well, Yeah no foreshadowing…. Love the video as always! Thanks!

  5. i have got to reread those books, damya!  the more time passes since reading them, the more details i forget.  thanks for making these videos, you are the glue that holds my asoiaf memories together!

  6. But what about the magic at storms end? What kind of magic did Bran the builder use that Mel could penetrate? Was it because it's magic or because is enemy magic? The way the castle is described, the way the stones are shaped it's similar to the architecture of the Valyrians. Some people think that they, before they called themselves Valyrian, were amongst the First Men and could be that they and Bran learned this form of fire magic to build things from the CotF. So is that why Mel magics can't penetrate because the castle has CotF magic? But then what kind of magic is Mel using?

  7. Only life can pay for death, pretty damn smart. Are there any other examples of it, or just the babies. Anyway, it is known. By the way, do we know what happened to Irri and Jhiqui on the show, they just disappeared, I know they're still there in the books.

Anyway, great video from the best analyzer and theory-crafter I've ever seen.

  8. Totally agree the shadow baby was magic and not R'hllor, you did a great job making that point. On a side note…Stannis was a total dick. Killed his brother and daughter, caused the death of his wife (granted she was a whacko but still) and all those thousands of soldiers; and for what? To make the realm a better place? For the people? Nope and nope. It was for his ego after he got that chip on his shoulder because Robert gave him Dragonstone instead of Storm's End. What a douche.

  9. This is a great video. I'm glad I subscribed today.  Is it plausible Melisandre can birth another shadow baby to kill the NK and, if so, who would she need to plant the seed?  I feel she's going to be an integral part of the last season. Any thoughts?

  10. It reminds me of the description of the original Knights King, "when he gave his seed he gave his soul" makes me think what Rhallor can do the great other can do. Little detail from the book it was Cat that recognized Stannis not Brienne.

  11. While the boy was gone, Melisandre washed herself and changed her robes. Her sleeves were full of hidden pockets, and she checked them carefully as she did every morning to make certain all her powders were in place. Powders to turn fire green or blue or silver, powders to make a flame roar and hiss and leap up higher than a man is tall, powders to make smoke. A smoke for truth, a smoke for lust, a smoke for fear, and the thick black smoke that could kill a man outright. The red priestess armed herself with a pinch of each of them.

  12. Kind of a gross comparison but blood magic kind of reminds me of parasites. It takes everything good from their host and they don’t even know what’s happening until it’s too late.
