Just days after a slew of new House of the Dragon cast members were confirmed by fan site Redanian Intelligence, the site named three more actors joining the second season of the show:
Aside from Ted Reilly, who will reportedly be playing a crofter, Michael Elkin and Matthew Couchman are playing unknown roles. Elkin has the most credits to his name on IMDB, having played a lot of unnamed background characters on TV shows. Couchman has the look of basically any middle aged man in Westeros, with a fluffy beard and handlebar mustache reminiscent of Davos Seaworth.
With the Dance of the Dragons set to explode in season 2, the story will take to new locations where we’ll meet dozens of new characters. Season 1 mostly took place in King’s Landing, Driftmark and Dragonstone, but as the war heats up, things will start to sprawl.
New characters are coming in House of the Dragon season 2
Those of you who have read George R.R. Martin’s know some of what’s coming. It’s all but confirmed that the Blood and Cheese plot will go down in season 2 in King’s Landing. Elsewhere, we’ll see the sowing of the dragonseeds. According to Martin, filming on the second season is about halfway done.
Despite the fact that Hollywood writers and actors are both on strike, work on House of the Dragon season 2 is chugging along. The scripts for season 2 were already complete when the writer’s went on strike and most of the actors in the show are not members of SAG-AFTRA, but its British counterpart Equity. Other projects in the Game of Thrones universe, like the Dunk and Egg show, are currently shelved since they are in the early stages of production.
