Chasing Cats

Arya is chasing cats so she can prove how quick and agile she really is. This one cat in particular leads her to the lower parts of King’s Landing where she overhears a conversation regarding her father, Eddard Stark.

Arya is the youngest daughter and third child of Lady Catelyn and Lord Eddard Stark, head of House Stark and Warden of the North. She was born soon after Eddard Stark’s return from the Greyjoy Rebellion and raised at Winterfell. Arya has an older sister Sansa. She has an older brother Robb and two younger brothers Bran and Rickon. She also has a bastard half-brother Jon Snow.

In her nine years, she has quickly shown herself to be an independent and wild-spirited girl. Unlike her sister, she rejects the notion that she must become a lady and marry for influence and power, showing no interest in the womanly arts of dancing, singing, and sewing; instead she revels in fighting and exploring, to the bemusement of her tutor Septa Mordane and parents. Known affectionately as “Arya Underfoot” by the staff and servants of Winterfell.

  18. Looks at the last episode of season 6

    It all makes sense now.

    Varys appearing in dorne to force an alliance with the martells and tyrells Without Daenarys's know of. shows that their plan is stil in motion. Varys wants a targaryen on the thrown and that's why he is helping Daenarys without her knowing. What if Varys has been manipulating yburn to help Cersei and caue for kings anding to be in chaos before Daearys arives?

Ok at this point its pretty clear that the HBO and the producers have combined Dany's character with Young Griff's. oh and one more thing, this combination started in season 4, which GRRM was heavily involved in and made the changes with D&D. In season 4 we find out that Jorah joint a sellsword company called the Golden Company (you can see Dany and Jorah talking about it in the scene when they were discussing Yunkai). This indicates that GRRM was involved in combing Griff's storyline with Jorah's and Young Griff's with Dany. There have been many hints that Young Griff was never supposed to exist in the books and GRRM added him later. GRRM admitted even in an interview that after the 3rd book he made a big change in a the plot and decided to add new characters that will play a big role with the main characters. If anything, the show is probably going with the original plan GRRM had regarding Dany.

  27. Watching this the first time (and before reading the books) I didn't at all realise how important this scene is…ugh, they could have done so much with season 5, and look what's come out

  29. I have no idea why they included this scene if they aren't going to include Young Griff. This show had so much potential… It still is a great show, but it could've been so much better if they had included at least one of: LSH, Young Griff, Dornish Master Plan or Crow's Eye.

  32. Weird that they never did anything more with this. Varys and Illyrio was clearly conspiring for setting a war in motion, much like littlefinger. Varys wants a targaryen rule again, and I feel like they did this scene with the intention of Aegon being introduced later in the series. Then all the changes came, and they made Varys simply just support Dany instead. Makes this scene seem less important sadly :/  and what happened to Illyrio? Varys mentioned they were at his home in s5e1, but the man was nowhere to be seen.

  37. I've read some spoilers, and I hint you this, I think Lancel might be playing a big part in season 5, since he lost 2 brothers to Lord Karstark, you can do the math who gets killed by or killed by orders from the Master of whispers…

  39. As cool as the chat between Varys and Illyrio is, I'm more drawn to the dragon head in this scene. It's teeth are as big as Arya, maybe even taller. Then I think about how big Dany's dragons are getting now. Hope Arya's able to stay out of a live dragon's mouth.

  40. In the book the dialogue is longer:
    -Varys:He´s found one of the bastards. The others wont take too long in come. One day, two, a couple of weeks.
    -Illyrio:And when he find out, what will he do?
    -V: Only gods know. The fools tried to kill his son, what´s worst, they were bunglers. He´s not the kind of men who forget these kind of things. I assure you, if we like it or not, the lion and the wolf will be facing soon.
    -I: Too soon, too soon. In what do it help us a war right now? We´re not ready. Delay it.
    -V: It´s like asking me to stop the time. Do you think I´m a magician?
    -I: Neither more nor less.
    -V: What do you want me to do?
    -I: If one hand can die, why not another one? That´s a dance you´ve danced my friend.
    -V: That was then, and this in now. And this hand is not like the other one.
    -I: It´s possible. But, however, we need time. The princess is pregnant. The khal wont do anything before his son is born. You know how are those savages.
    -V: Well, if he doesnt do anything soon, it´ll be too late. This is not a game for two players, if it once was. Stannis and Lysa have escaped from my scope, and rumors say they´re raising armies. Ser Loras has written to Highgarden asking his father to send his sister to the court. The girl is a maiden of 14 years old, sweet, gorgeous and handable. Lord Renly and Ser Loras want Robert to sleep with her, marry her and name her queen. About Littlefinger…only gods know his plans. But who really keeps me awake is Lord Stark. He got the bastard, the book and soon he´ll know the truth. And now thanks to Littlefinger his wife has kidnapped Tyrion. Lord Tywin considers as an offense, and Jaime has a strange affect for the imp. If Lannisters go north, Tully will do the same. You say we must delay it. I say the otherwise. Even the best juggler cant keep all the balls in the air too long.
    -I: You´re more than a juggler my friend. You´re a true magician. I´m only asking you to keep using your magic a little bit more.
    -V: I´ll do what I can. I need gold and 50 birds more.
    -I: That much? What you want arent that easy to find… too young to have learned the alphabet… matbe a little older… wont die that fast.
    -V: No… more young are safer… treat'em good.
    -I: …if they keep the tongue…
    -V: … is a risk…
