  1. Is the horn Sam Tarley has, Euron's? The one he found with the dragon glass? I love Euron because in a world of violent psychos he seems to be more driven for obscure reasons, but that's probably because he has barely been fleshed out on tv, unlike the books. Love your voice too!

  2. The entire admitting to regicide and getting away with it was one of the first Major instances of contrived plot-advance/conflict Resolution that has progressively worsened the Show. You might as well have Euron look at the camera and say "Yeah, yeah, yeah, we all know that I would actually have to be all sneaky and spend at the very least a good, full solid Episode becoming the ruler of the iron-islands, but let's just skip all that so we can get to the part where Dany sails to Westeros already.

The first time they pulled this bullshit was when the Sand-snakes kill Trystane and Doran Martell, which is presumably implied to have also been followed by Ellaria simply admitting to regicide and the entirety of Dorne being OK with a dead prince's concubine and her bastard daughters now being Control.
Speaking of which, who the hell is supposed to be ruling over Dorne at the Moment in the Show? I wouldn't be surprised if they've simply written Dorne out of the final Season entirely.

Other great instances of BRILLIANT writing are when Cersei blows up the Great Sept of Baelor and NO ONE in all of King's Landing cares, and, most blatantly, when Sandor Clegane tells Gendry to stop whinging about being sold to Melisandre, where the writers are practically just telling us "just shut up and be content while we stretch and contort this mangled perversion of ASOIAF into the simplistic Good vs. Evil LOTR fantasy story that GoT had started off very deliberately NOT being, where the unlikely bastard turns out to be the chosen one, marries the Dragon-princess and defeats the ice-king (upon whose death all the minions also automatically die, conveniently and neatly wrapping everything up)".
I would hope that they set it up this way specifically just so they can break it in classic GoT Fashion, but I would not Count on it at this Point.

  3. o wonder how creating army of 1000 ships for plot reason is any less lazy writing that having plot horn out of nowhere that can command dragons … not to mention that greyjoy's from the show and greyjoy's from the books are completly diffrent, so in context of the show it is perfectly believable they would be ok with kingslaying

  4. My thoughts on Euron, the book version, the show version was introduced too late in the series and seems a far different, less interesting character.

    1. There is a lot of talk about Euron fighting the Redwyne fleet, that may or may not happen. In ASOS, when Tywin mentions Balons offer of an alliance, Paxter is hot for it. Its possible that Redwyne will forge an alliance with Euron instead. If they bring in Aurane Waters and Maybe Sallador Saan. They would control all of the Westerosi coast from Bear Island all the way to Sunspear, they would also control entry into the Narrow Sea from the Southern Ocean to a certain extent. If Paxter makes a deal with Euron instead of fighting the Hightowers small fleet will be destroyed and the Hightower and his bannermen would likely have to go over to Euron as well.

    2. Like Jon pointed out, when Princes fail to repay their loans to the Iron Bank, new Princes sprout up out of the ground to take their thrones. SInce Cersei has ceased payments, Aegon has landed with the Golden Company, Euron has started his sea campaign in the West, and the bank has openly made an agreement with Stannis to fund him in return for him taking on all the debts of the Iron Throne. The Bank has or will likely play a role in his continued rise depending on their interests.

    3. Him being a dreamer or some sort of skinchanger/greenseer seems plausible. Obviously his use of the Shade of the Evening seems to have woken this up in him if it wasn't all ready. His being a servant of the Others, maybe unwittingly seems possible. He doesn't seem to have any interest in weirwoods one way or another as far as I can see. We have never seen a wight or a white walker directly harm a weirwood tree. If the COTF are behind their existence that makes sense. So the Others would have to use human servants they have manipulated with false visons to do this? In the Tv show the Others seemed to consider the COTF and the greenseer an enemy but in the books I'm not sure. There wasn't even a Walker leading the wights at the entrtance. Are they there to guard it or attack it?

    4. I think Euron is likely one of the greatest mariners if not the greatest now alive in the books. Ships sailing along the West coast of South America made vey slow progress back in the colonial period as long as they kept the coast in sight. Its when they sailed further out into the Pacific out of the sight of land that they found better currents and made better time. So Eurons surprise descent on the Shield Islands was not based on any sort of magic, it was based on superior knowledge and sailing skills. I'm up in the air about whether he made it to Valyria. He got the horn from the wizards but the armor I'm not sure, it could be that this armor is linked to the horn somehow.

    5. It remains an open question with how the Dragon horn scheme will work out. It does seem to be genuine artifact as far as we can tell. Vic and Euron are both trying to betray each other, my money is on Euron.

    6. One interesting thing about Euron is that he has abandoned the North and also has not directly attacked the Lannisters and their vassals. All though I'm sure that his activities in the South have hurt their trade interests. There is not much to gain in the North but the West is rich. Its interesting that Nestoris convinced Stannis to take Asha and her men into his service. They have to play all these different players against each other and if they can pressure Cersei/the Iron Throne to cut a deal and resume payments then they have to find a way to cut things off. Euron, if he cuts a deal with Redwyne can always cut off the GC and Aegon by sea, as well as raid the ports of his possible Dornish allies. Like Stannis said, boats were the key to conquering Dorne. Euiron could them be married to Cersei. Stannis on his own in the North, even if Bolton is defeated is too remote and lacks the resources to be any sort of threat, even if the Vale and some of the RIverlords back him. Meanwhile the threat he poses serves as a good reason for the Iron Throne to continue payments. That's if he simply doesn't die. An independent North in alliance with the Vale might even be seen as being in the Banks interest, who knows. Make no mistake, the Bank is behind a lot of the recent problems that the current occupants of the Iron Throne are having.

  5. I like the theory that Euron was a dreamer and the Others caught his spirit and he's working for the Others to bring about the Long Night. He could have been one of the dreamers Bran saw impaled on ice spheres

  6. Whenever I read that "screech of a rusted iron hinge" I thought it could be sexual abuse, but I didn't wanna believe it was true..the forsaken chapter was scary and disturbing and one of the best chapters in the series..I believe he payed the faceless men with a dragons egg to kill his brother.

  7. I don't like the depiction in the show, but in the books he is very interesting and scary! How's this for a possibility, he uses the horn to call the dragon that is turned by the Night's King?

  8. none of the video producers on YouTube have mentioned that Euron doesn't believe in the drowned god, but instead believed in the storm god. also, you mention that the greyjoy's purpose in the books is to get dany to westeros. that simply is not true. dany already has a fleet of ships that can get her and her entire army to the west if she wanted to, which she doesn't yet.

  9. Euron is my favorite character. I think that he can be charming if it meets his needs, but that he gives zero fucks about his family. His plan is to marry Daenerys and then become King of Westeros and Victarion will be a tool to that end. He will ultimately win the Game of Thrones because he is the ultimate Dark Triad and knows how to manipulate people psychologically to do his bidding better than even Littlefinger.

  10. Jeez stop bagging on the show, they've done such a good job. Of course its not going to be as detailed/accurate as a book.
Your like trying to compare the bible with that passion of the christ movie

  11. People bitch about the kingsmoot in the show but to me its pretty obvious Euron was putting on a show there and told the ironborn what they wanted to hear. The real Euron was at the bridge scene where he tossed his brother from Pyke and I believe we will see more of this Euron in season 7.
