A video art project from me if you want to watch!
With Winterfell under siege and facing defeat, Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen) rejects the advice of Maester Luwin (Donald Sumpter) to abandon the castle and flee to the Night’s Watch, and decides to fight to the death with his men. However, during a rallying speech, Theon is knocked unconscious by Dagmer (Ralph Ineson) and betrayed by his own men, who drag him off. Luwin, in an attempt to save Theon, is mortally wounded by Dagmer. Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead-Wright) and his party emerge from hiding to find Winterfell sacked and Luwin dying in the Godswood, where he declares his loyalty and love for the Starks before having Osha (Natalia Tena) end his life. Bran and his group then escape the ruined remains of Winterfell, bound for the Wall.

if only the starks didn't leave winterfell… 🙁 but if they didn't the show will not have 6 more seasons… 😀
1:11 to 1:33 fucking breaks my heart. My eyes fill with tears and i feel like i have a lump in my throat. EVERYTIME. Maester Luwin was so kind and rationnal…
watching this for the first time. So good.
For me, this is still the saddest death in GoT so far. Rickon and Bran were such cuties back then and maester Luwin was the kindest man of the series. So emotional, especially with the beautiful music. Still get tears in my eyes.
One of the few truly honorable and kind characters in this show. Was such a sad scene
You don't actually see him dying. Might Osha didn't kill him and the weirwood helped regenerate him and he is hiding in the Citadel or hiding in the crypts with Raeghar.
Maester Luwin's cry/smile at 1:31 and his hand reaching out to Bran always gets me 😢 He know's he's about to die but he's happy knowing that he saw the two boys alive before he passes away.
Poor Winterfell. It was hard enough seeing her like this, then in the hands of those loathsome Boltons. At least the godswood survived: the old gods helped the Starks take Winterfell back because she belongs to them.
Imagine, the clues that the person torturing Theon was a Bolton was right in front of my face the whole time and I didn't think to put it together. This is one of them.
I did wonder to myself, why is Winterfell burning? I thought we saw the Ironborn on their way with an unconscious Theon.
And then, I didn't think anymore of it. I assumed I just missed something.
After Luwin said "pulled you into this world" I wanted to cry
RIP Maester Luwin. The Stark theme almost brings me to tears.😭😭
they did rickon no justice!! this scene made me hope at the time that he wouldve become an amazing warrior
Farewell,Luwin.:(
Serioulsy if I had to pick only 2 names about this series that would be GRRM and Ramin Djawadi.
Tfw Bran is the only one in this scene still alive.
Winterfell burns and everyone is gone. Ned, Catelyn, Robb, Sansa, Arya, Jon, Benjen, Master Luwin, Septa Mordane, Jory Cassel, Rodrick Cassel, Winterfell's garrisson, all the smallfolk, and the last ones to abandon Winterfell were Bran, Rickon, and Hodor.
I cried during this scene 🙁
I hope Rickon becomes lord of Winterfell and charges against the south to take the crown from King Joffery.
Who burt it down? The Iron Islanders or the Boltons?
Out of everyone in this scene, Bran is the only one alive as of season 7. That's some sad shit.
What if there was another Maester behind that tree?
I cried it's just when a old sweet innocent person dies it's so sad 😭
Bran: They burned(killed) everything
Maester Luwin: Not you (only to Bran)
Everyone else is dead. Poor Rickon, all he got was a look.
Luwin was 1 of the best characters on the show…hands down.
Winter is Coming
1:31 I'M NOT CRYINg
Fucking Theon.
Maybe in the top three saddest deaths on this show.. Maybe the saddest. It's like the second he sees the boys he doesn't even care about his own fate.
Meanwhile "Kill Them All" plays in the background as Osha, Rickon, Bran, and Hodor step out into the ruins of Winterfell for the first time since hiding in the crypts.
😢
Leaving the ancestral home of the House of Stark is the hardest that could ever happen, but it is the consolation to know that at the end of season 6, the direwolf banners are hanging from the walls and battlements of Castle Winterfell one more time… 'This castle was once our seat of power, and so it has became once more! Let the Flayed Men and the Ironborn know this: never again will our ancestral home fall into Boltons' or Greyjoys' hands! The Castle of Winterfell has been reclaimed. For the House of Stark! For the House of Stark! For the House of STARK!!!'
"for that i consider myself very lucky" that line break me.
On of my favorite scenes in the entire show.
It's sad to see Luwin give in to his pain as soon as the boys are out of sight.
they should have look up at the gods wood they could see wix
