  1. gentlemen: the thing that pissed me off the most this season is they were too tepid to introduce new characters, but not only that but they rushed killing off others. That led to the crazy plot armor.

but like how u mention the callback to davos' son. Back in s2, they could add side characters, kill them, and still fully realize them in that time…compared to the 'ironborn fight' & theons nameless adversary.

its a shame they skipped fAegon & co because something has been missing for a while & that could have bridged the gap

  2. 31.45 In regards on what to do with a fallen enemy's castle, if you don't want to kill them off let them keep the castle but take all their land, like what happen to Jon Connington house!

  3. Carmine: "Lets talk positives for a bit:Preston: *continues to shit on the show for 20 minutes*Carmine:  "So what did you like about the season?"Preston: "Zombie Dragon's pretty cool".

  4. I found the sentence "Sansa is the real feminist this season" somehow interesting.
I don't know if I agree though. Not that she's not but why isn't Arya as well?
Since feminism is all about self determination for everyone, her approach is just as good or bad as any other for me. Just because she's young and angry and maybe makes stupid decisions (that annoy me AF) it doesn't mean her approach is less feminist. I guess.
I'm still brooding over this one. What do you think?
Either way, thanks for the input!

  5. I liked season 6 wayyy more than 7, thought it had 3 of the best episodes of the whole show.  Granted, I wasn't all into the GoT theory shit back then and hadn't read the books yet.

  6. A quick thought. Could GRRM have trolled D &D in the sense he tricked them into making a different ending from the books. So the LOTR ending we seem to be getting from the show is what GRRM told D & D but its a lie. Its just an idea I had listening to the podcast. I dont believe it myself but it would be really funny if true.

  7. I get tired of having to skim through your podcast because you aren't funny. Please stop the stand up routine and stick with your review which is good, especially when you disagree. Oh, and don't give up your day job to do standup, people would throw things.

  8. Wtf? Arya and Sansa were playing the long game against little finger to prove to the other lords what little finger is so their other charges against him would be more believeable. Literally the only thing that made sense the entire season and you dismiss it like arya and Sansa are two stupid kids who argue each other for petty stupid shit. Wow.

  9. Only night watch rangers were allowed to go past the wall previously but Jon still lets southern boy gendry who has never seen snow go past the wall because he heard he was a formidable fighter. Btw no one uses a sledgehammer to fight in combat. A war hammer isn't a fucking sledgehammer. It's just a regular ass hammer good for blunt damage which is great fighting against armor. This shit is retarded.

  10. Cersei is completely illogical at the end of season 7. The more people the army of the dead kills the more dead people she will have to deal with when they make it south. Also pretending that the iron bank will still be on her side when they find out about the army of the dead is fucking stupid. George r r Martin would be so pissed if he wasn't sitting on a mountain of money and still writing the books.

  11. I just don't see how you can reconcile a 7.5 (or any positive rating) with completely ruining Littlefinger and others. I mean – that's a fatal error. The show is just completely broken and has been since S5E1 and that's being generous. It's only redeeming feature is that it gives you guys something to base these really interesting podcasts on.

  12. As someone who had only watched the show even I found this seasons to be disappointing and kinda anti-climatic and not at the standard of previous seasons. But I’m actually happy about this since it promted me to read the books and I just finished clash of kinds and reading storm of swords rn

  13. Great episode, appreciate you guys not only putting out two hours, but made it entertaining and thought provoking from start to finish. Looking forward to the show about things you guys don't like about the books. One thing you guys seemed to touch the edges of, but never hit. Is John supposed to hate his family in the show? We know he gets multiple ravens from Winterfell. Did none of them mention Bran or Arya, or does he not give a crap? My guess is that they attempted to film a scene but Kit Harrington is unable to display emotion so they gave up. That or the writing is THAT pathetic. I mean even him saying great, but this is more important I cant lose focus. That, in my opinion, is probably the overall problem with this season. A lot of the mistakes were SO unnecessary and easily fixed. For example why even have FlashGendry and SuperRaven. We have seen someone show up at the last second to save the day how many times in this show? They didn't need to even show Dany before she left, if they did why not just have her go, I have a bad feeling stfu Tyrion and hop on Drogon. Scuba Zombies, no reason for them. Their clearly sick of doing the show and its obvious, why not get some NEW people in who are excited about continuing the story? Too many damn Chad Summerchilds I guess.

  14. I'll tell you what made America rich, the Wars of 20th century and natural resources like Oil, the US used have have a surplus of around 300 million barrels each year before and during world war 2, they provided 90% of Japans prewar oil consumption, Cotton surely was AN industry, and an important one at that, but as many will tell you, Slavery isn't actually a economically viable system of production, so attributing the wealth of the U.S majoritively to Cotton or any Slave based labour is incorrect. Before the first world war, the US had just about taken over Germany and the UK in terms of Industrial power, based on it's size and populace at the time, that's actually quite surprising it took so long. Factor in the fact that during both world wars America was the worlds bank in terms of war loans, which are still being paid back and also trade deals made with organisation like the Commonwealth (something they forced on the UK for more battleship IIRC) So, no, White European Americans or Native Americans or Jewish Americans or whom ever owned slaves back then do not in any way still benefit from Slavery. Most didn't even when slavery was around, since it drove down labour demand and wages. I just had to be that guy here.

  15. you pessimistic cynical hipster nerds are complete party poopers.. all this whinging… my gosh the general public doesnt are with you unaccomplished wannabe critics!!! get it through your heads. your negativity isn't end all be all!

  16. As far as tyrion's weird look, im gonna say his realization that cersei is pregnant and that he kept that to himself is crucial. It changes his perspective because now his family has a future, and im fairly sure we dont see him in between the scene he has with cersei and the shot of him with that look on the boat. As for Darrio, Dany never loved him it was purely physical. Yes she was infatuated with him but she says it herself at the end of season six that she is leaving behind a man who truly loves her, and she felt nothing.

  17. Hey preston and carmine. Question for you guys what are your thoughts on R+L=J? I don't mean whether or not you think it's true or not, but what are your thoughts on it as a story element. Do you think it makes the story too simple or not?

  18. i feel like little finger dying in a duel / trial by combat would be rather poetic as it would parallel the time that he fought brandon for catelyn and nearly died but catelyn begged brandon to spare his life. except this time, sansa would let him die.

  19. It seems like Preston has been listening to a lot of Unabashed Book Snobbery podcasts and I feel like he'd have a much richer conversation if he was part of that series rather than bro-ing it out with Redteam.
