  1. These videos highlight the armour elements which one might otherwise not think about when casually watching them within the show. I'm hoping that this translates to proper armour when she inevitably rides Drogon into the final battle(s). Tyrion (and others, but mostly Tyrion) have been fretting about what could happen if she gets hit by even one arrow. While I'm not screaming yet over her taking chances with some of the smaller (relatively speaking) battles, when it comes to the final showdown with the White Walkers, and then with Cersei, she NEEDS some practical protective gear.

She needs some chain mail/scale armour combo, to protect her, with at least scale/solid pieces covering her torso and shoulders, and a solid, metal helm of some kind. Practical pieces (no extreme moulding to boob-shape, as we know how deadly that can be, directing sharp weapons right into the sternum: "cleavage", indeed!), yet stylish enough for Daenerys (without being TOO ornate). Something which will allow her movement and dexterity, while protecting vital parts. How convenient that Gendry's back and will be in Winterfell, to make it for her 😉

Wikipedia has this beautiful pangolin-scale armour from early 19th century Rajasthan, the scales of which are reminiscent of dragon scales, which could serve as some inspiration: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scale_armour#/media/File:Coat_of_Pangolin_scales.JPG

  2. Wow. I had no idea that Dany wore ready to wear fashions on the show. You would think that it would've been cheaper just to make a copy instead of actually buying an (incredibly) expensive Vionnet dress.

  3. Not a lot of people knows it, but it'd be nice to mention that Daenerys' ring and bangle are made and designed by Gloria Carlos, out of iron and gold. She designed them before the series and Emilia Clarke choose the ring out of several ones presented to her by Michele Clapton. I talked to Gloria over Skype when I commissioned her, she's a lovely lady and have known Michele Clapton for a while.

  4. Thank you for the comparison to contemporary fashin designers! It's interesting to see where the inspiration might come from and how one could achieve a similar look if one has the funds or a sewing machine and some skll 😀

  5. This video and the costumes are wonderful. The costumes is one of the reasons I love this show and your video adds to my appreciation and awe of its beauty. Clothing tells part of the story.

  6. Love this video! Dany's costumes are my favorite in the show (probably because she's my favorite character). Fun fact: her pearl ring was her engagement ring from Hizdahr zo Loraq.

  7. Great analysis! I love the costumes in the show, but I wish they brought over the tokars from the books. It shows how Dany respects the culture of Meereen , and wants to be their queen, not conqueror. The tokar is an uncomfortable but elegant garment, meant for masters to look pretty in (kinda looks like a sari, I think). But the tokar contributes to Dany not feeling like herself as she becomes more and more frustrated by the politics of Meereen and the compromises she has to make. When she flies off on Drogon, she symbolically throws off the movement restricting tokar and runs into the pit to him.

  8. Daenerys also switched to black in 6×09 and 6×10 because that's a Targaryen color. She's never worn red and/or black before but going back to Westeros means dressing in her family colors.

  9. I love daenarys' costumes! There is so much detail in them and they all seem so architectural. Her entire style really speaks to me.
Thank you for the amount of work that goes into these videos, they are amazing!

  10. I wish we were able to see more of the beautiful detail on the show!! It is amazing, the detail each piece has really contributes to the characters and their development. I wish the cameras were able to pick them up!

  11. I'M IN LOVE WITH YOUR CHANNEL! It's just awesome! Congratulations! BTW could you do a SANSA + Cersei video for their costumes on season 6? I would love to know your thoughts about them!

  12. No mention of the Egyptian influence? The sharply pleated white skirts, the color lapis….while sitting in a pyramid. You gave so much acknowledgment to the Japanese influences in Cersei's gowns and this is much more overt.

  13. I am always in awe of of all of the information you are able to dig up. you Musta dedicate so much time and effort into each of these videos and it is greatly appreciated. thank you so much
