A reading of the most important passage in all of Game of Thrones from George R.R. Martin’s legendary fantasy series, “A Song of Ice and Fire.”
The story is from the perspective of nobles. This is one of the few times we are reminded of the Costs of War for the commonfolk.
Will be releasing a Game of Thrones Season 8 Theory Video related to the Night King, White Walkers, and this concept of war/violence on Friday, October 13th

Hey I would like to know what you think about the white walkers actual fighting skills, like what’s the average white walkers actual skill with a weapon and how good do you think the night king is?
Love your voice, narrating and channel, keep going! <3
The Small Folk have it the WORST. this Game of Thrones… man. its pointless.
Awesome, very well read Sir…. Such beautiful writing 💖💖💖
love being read to.
agree this is a key passage
Ah kev my friend I have returned! Sorry I have been absent from your sanctury of a channel over the past fortnight been incredibly busy but I'm back now. Would like to say a massive thank you for all the vids you put out and the 5 I have just caught up on have been exemplary. Being part of this ever growing community is so exciting as I'm watching you and your content mature and develop over time. I came here at 17 thousand subs now look where your efforts have taken you mate. I meant it when I said you have a special channel and still do. For a long while now your channel has been my fave on this whole site and it continues to fill that title. Another fabulously moving, emotive and unique video to add to your ranks. Much love man!
Best voice on YouTube. Love that you always treat us to one of your laughs too. Great video, as usual.
Long live Sandor Clegane!
Completely unrelated comment: Did you get a chance to watch the new blade runner? Best movie I've seen in quite a few years. Would really like you to do a breakdown or review or something (if you didn't hate it) it's hard to explain the film without spoiling it. It's a sci-fi noir so it's slow paced, following this detective unraveling a mystery. Like 70% of the film is silent but the music and cinematography is amazing. And the acting. It just says so much without having to say anything. Anyway good ass movie see it lol sorry for the random ramble
Gren could hear the wind rustling though a clump of Pussy Willows 5:18 -Google search
thank you, that is my favorite part of the whole book series, and your voice really brought the depth out 🙂
It's been years since I read that book, so I forgot entirely about that passage. Glad to be reminded of that amazing writing.
It is good to see you in a video Kev 🤗
Great video as always
I think this passage you just read is the underlying moral message of this set of books. It's very much about portraying the horrors of war, the aftermath of war, the casualties of warrior culture. It isn't romantic or honorable or noble & most of the people forced to fight & die don't even have any real allegiance or agenda to a greater cause. The other big theme is history repeating itself due to man's refusal to give up his selfish nature (tribalism)Yep, really curious to see where it's all leading…
That was perfectly wonderful Kev. So many broken people, it sounded like George was writing about himself at first. I loved the way you edited yourself reading intermingled with the show action, just lovely ♥
Gotta say, I like this new style of video. It’s cool to see the face that goes with the voice.
Great delivery of this passage and use of show visuals to accommodate your reading. It reminds us just how easily situations can lead to people becoming broken in a number of ways. That's REAL stuff right there. GRRM is phenomenal at capturing the human spirit at its best and worst.
Your like Cr1tikal but expresses emotion
The voice, the music in the background, the cinematics – absolute GOOSEBUMPS <3
I prefer the name cussin preacher for the character from the show.
I doubt many US and Coalition troops in Afghanistan know what they are fighting for, and why? 16 years into the war.
Really enjoyed this video =)
Please do more narrations with clips like this one
bridge4 Thank you for the Video good sir. I really appreciate the time you put into doing them For Our entertainment..
Ever Consider doing a audio vid. Like reading the Hole book but doing it in small videos. Like 1 or 2 chapters each week..? With still pics or somthing so you would not need to edit a bunch of vids into 1 clip..
💜
I'd definitely be a listener.
Your Loyal fan's all would listion.
We enjoy what you do Now.
Can't speak for everyone els but i am a Game of Thrones Nut case. Lol. I love and enjoy everthing about it..
Its Amazing to think that somthing that came from the mind of 1 guy Can bring Soo meny different kinds of people together.
If we have Nothing els in common @ all & would never mingle otherwise.. We do over this..
Its Crazy Awsome..
Your channel is my favorite for game of thrones content. Keep it up! I like that you keep pushing out more GOT content which makes me feel less impatient for the next season.
Appreciate the shots of you reading from the book.
The background music, the enthusiasm in your voice, the words leaping out of the book… simply amazing!
That passage was very moving 😐😑
I hope that Ser Hyle Hunt and Septon Merybald survive
wow dude! Good video.
You should start an audio book series, this type of content is awesome! Keep it up
Dude this was truly amazing! You need to do some serious work on audiobooks. Fucking powerful dude, amazing voice man!
Can't wait for The Night King video
So this is the face behind that great voice
First of all, you look so happy in the video. I enjoyed seeing you enjoy making it! Great video once again. And yeah I would also pay you to read the books to me 😃
I know a lot of people don't like that part of the books where Brianne travels around but I think it is very enlightening. We get to see first hand how war effects the people. That particular section you read explains so much – this man's family dying and the experience driving him to try to help people. They meet many types of broken men on this journey. The great thing about the books is seeing every aspect of actions from the top down. Great video as always.
There is an audio drama called broken men speech. It's pretty well narrated as well.
The voice does not fit the man but the man fits the voice
Great reading. This is GRRM's take on war and the refusal to portray anything or anyone as black or white. Love it…I need to go read again. I've just recently discovered your channel and so glad I subscribed!
