The philosophy of Code Geass
Could you do The Philosophy of Naruto? 😀
please do mirai nikki
I think a cool one would be The Philosophy of Hellsing (Ultimate).
Who else feels like that n shouldn't have won and it's just stupid how he beat light. Seriously the show was great until episode 25 when L died
The philosophy of the fate series
Anyone would work but I think unlimited blade works or fate/zero would do the best. Plus when showing parts of the show it would look better
Do philosophy of boku no pico
The Philosophy of Tokyo Ghoul please
Light Yagami is a charismatic but sociopathic narcissist. The Neflix will need to find a Heath Ledger level of young actor to make this character credible.
"yigami"
I can't comprehend how someone could ever think Light is anything more than a mass murderer. That he has good intentions doesn't take away from the fact that a significant number of people he killed were innocent. He has the morality of a Fascist or Communist or- more on the nose- a religious fanatic.
Sure, not all the Jews are greedy bankers subverting our society, but you can't make an omelet without breaking a few eggs. We have to kill them all just to be sure we get the bad ones.
Any dissent must be crushed. Right from the moment where he kills L's stand in for having the audacity to criticize him he has all the morality of a commissar beating someone to death in a gulag. For the greater good, comrade.
He even does it with reckless glee instead of treating it like a somber duty. His hubris adds an extra layer of disgust for me. A religious fanatic, where he is his own god. No humility, which again reminds me more of dictators with cults of personality like Hitler or Stalin or Mao than it does say inquisitors or witch burners.
The cherry on top is that most societies like this don't actually create a utopia. The moment where people threaten each other by suggesting they will post their name and photo to Kira forums online showcases this is a society, a world, where people are living in fear. Fear that they might do something that could displease Kira, fear that they don't always know what he will consider fair and what he will want to punish. They are all at his whim and mercy.
If Light had stopped at killing people with hostages or dangerous criminals at large his morality MIGHT be ambiguous. But he didn't.
As to what I think justice is? I think its obvious. I'd rather let a hundred guilty men walk free than punish one innocent mistakenly. Light would rather punish a hundred innocent men than let one guilty one walk free.
I also believe in exponential increases. That people should be judged with the same harshness they judged others with while performing injustices.
Someone flips you off in traffic? Don't be a pansy. It happens. Let it go.
Someone steals something minor from you? Hey, return it and no harm no foul.
Someone drives recklessly? Fines are fine.
Someone punches you? Punch them back.
Someone steals something major? Jail time.
Someone murders in the passion of the moment? Major jail time.
Someone murders for frivolous reasons? Execution.
Someone like Light though? Notice I didn't mention torture as a punishment at any point. You save it for people like that. It really isn't enough for people like him- people that sit in their ivory towers while murdering scores of their fellow man and patting themselves on the back congratulating themselves on what a great job they've done- to simply die.
Everything they've ever loved should be turned into ashes in their mouth first. Their retribution should be thousand fold. They should be made an example of, as an individual.
Maybe some of you think what Light did was okay because you have the mentality of a Bolshevik or a Nazi. Maybe some of you should be impaled and lit on fire.
Why not? He emotionally manipulated a woman completely devoted to him then had her light herself on fire when she ceased being useful to him. Even fucking Walter White loved those closest to him enough that his son berating him destroyed him as a man. If Light can't be hurt that way he should be flayed alive instead.
I'd love to see them do something on elfen leid
L is a detective character, though he is a refreshing character from the usual ones we see. He does however have the motive of capturing the culprit, and bringing the world back to its ordinary state. (Returning things to how they were prior to the crimes)
The author wanted to right a suspense story, since there weren't many in the audience range they wanted to write for. It is a really neat spin on the old cat and mouse detective story.
How about a video on the philosophy of the Fate anime shows. I think they have an interesting counterpoint on what it means to be a hero.
plz do the philosophy of the walking dead
do you know what is really unjust though?
death note live action
one theme you didn't address here and that seems important too is the theme of good and evil: does a crime condemn you for your whole life and means you have to die or can it be redeemed, cured? Light thinks he can bring peace by killing the "bad guys" and not by chasing the very societal reasons those persons became criminals in the firts place, which is very moralizing and totally wrong IMO. On the other hand, you have L who fights the biggest criminal of all times with sometimes very crude/borderline cruel method. The protagonist of the show is a killer! Morals and the (blurred) concepts of good and evil seem paramount!
Do "The Philosophy of Hunter x Hunter."
What about the philosophies of the characters from the Injustice series of comics and video games?
Please do Naruto and One Piece
The philosophy of Cowboy Bebop!
…I think Death Note's perfect example of Justice is the Justice presented by Ryuk's fifth apple, that representation of justice was flawless…
Finally I've been waiting for wisecrack to do a philosophy of Death note…. Hopefully they do Code geass too :3
Sub Anime Viewers bullying Dub Anime Viewers = Small Brain
Manga Readers bullying All Anime Viewers = MEGA MIND
misa "died" 2_14_2011 .light died 1*28*2010.
so I guess she held out a year before deciding to give up
The connection to Gyges was really interesting. I wrote a paper for philosophy class that was about how the person who would NOT choose to use Gyges' ring is actually happier.
I'm quite certain that Amartya Sen articulated the same idea – that we should work to correct easily noticeable injustices, rather than think about ideal justice conditions – before Zack did in his "The Idea of Justice".
Philosophy of Berserk 🙂
You definitely must do a Philosophy of Misa !!
Philosophy of Parasyte
In this anime I didn't get what kira's perception of justice is…!! Bcz he said bad ppl Must b killed Thn Y did he kill innocent ppl who came as obstruction in his way of being god of new world.. I think he want to become dictator ..His ego increases n yeah at last all v can expect is light would get bore when there is no culprit left Thn start killing innocent ppl too…here the answer to what is true justice is not stated….!!
Actions of light n L is acceptable if v were in those place……
Lastly world become same as how it was before kira..!!
Finally kira is nothing more than less than a common man a serious serial killer……The classy attitude of L is just Osum…overall luv this anime.
