  1. Before Elle finds 008 or collie, there is an 8 ball in the background of 008's hideout as well as the scene of action 8 news before the intro of the episode starts.
Edit: oh they mention it later on

  2. I also think that the fact that the monster worked as a hivemind, is a reference to many of GRRM's stories, probably including A Song of Ice and Fire, in which the weirdwood trees and the Children of the Forest work as a hivemind, probably trying to get control over humanity, as they are the oldest race in Westeros

  3. The Mr.Mom reference also has a D&D connection. Taliesin Jaffe was an 80s child actor and he played the middle child in Mr.Mom. He is also in a online streaming D&D campaign on Geek and Sundry called Critical Role. I don't know if it was an accidental or deliberate reference, but it's still pretty cool.

  4. In the s1 the boys loose to the demigorgon and will it’s captured by it. I’m s2 e1 they beat the hydra. Hydra is something with many heads much like the shadow monster even though they r not heads there are multiple things. In the dnd game they beat it. And they beat it by the end of s2

  5. Another missable detail was when Billy was getting ready for his date and a track from the Metallica album 'Kill em All' played on his boombox. As well as a poster of the albums cover art on his bedroom wall.

  6. Anyone bring up Hopper getting viciously "loofa"ed with brooms after the Hawkins staff bring him and Will back to the lab? That scene was a nod from Silkwood starring Meryl Streep.
