“Beyond the Wall,” the second-to-last episode of Game of Thrones season 7, airs in just a few hours. It’s crushing that we’re so close to the end, but tonight’s episode looks like a corker. Talk about it here. (And yes, we know the episode leaked. If you want to discuss it ahead of time, head here. Please leave this post as a place for people who are watching tonight.)
Let’s start with the facts. Here’s “Beyond the Wall” in a nutshell:
- Start Time: August 20, 2017, 9 p.m. EST
- TV Info: HBO
- Episode: Season 7, Episode 6, “Beyond the Wall”
- Writers: David Benioff & D. B. Weiss
- Director: Alan Taylor
- Run time: 70 minutes
- Live Stream: Stream 1 – Stream 2
This is the longest episode of Game of Thrones ever (until next week, anyway). It’s also notable that Alan Taylor is directing it — he’s most notable for directing the execution of Ned Stark way back in season 1, and hasn’t been seen round these parts since the season 2 finale.
As is the norm now, we don’t have a synopsis to go over. We do have a trailer, though. The watchword is “blue.”
We’ve got little bits of Arya, Sansa, Tyrion, and Daenerys in there, but most of the photos are all about Jon Snow’s quest to rope a wight. HBO’s official images give some glamour shots of his A-Team:
There are some plum group shots, too:
And just so you don’t forget, other characters exist, as well:
It all goes down tonight. Chat about the episode to your heart’s content in the comments below — we’ll be updating the site with reactions and analysis as the episode goes on. (And again, to discuss the leak, head here.)
