Game of Thrones, a series so well known for it’s character deaths that thousands and thousands of fiction media find themselves being compared to it constantly. The realm of anime is no different. What is the Game of Thrones of anime? Is it Attack on Titan? Berserk? Juuni Taisen? None of the above? Hoodie’s here this week to toss his two cents into the discussion on the art of killing your characters. What do you guys think? Is Juuni Taisen comparable to Game of Thrones? Leave your thoughts in the comment section below.

  1. Juni Taisen is just parody Fate.
NisiOisiN is famous for writing parody and satire. NisiOisiN is infamous for writing ONLY parody and satire.
He writes subversion for subversions sake and that's why he's a hack. And why only 5 episodes in I was able to predict who the final winner of the Juni Taisen is. It's not hard to predict every twist in his work once you realize NisiOisiN is the Shyamalan of anime.

  2. I myself am never a fan of death game shows exactly because of what you went over. I really want to like Juuni Taisen because its got one of my favorite writers, nisioisin, at the helm. You put it perfectly, though: once a formula is established the suspense is ruined. Normally, nisioisin is known for these large story twists, but even so the idea that this many episodes have gone on and we've hadn't a slight look at that twist is something that concerns me.
