The final episode of season 7 saw Jaime Lannister’s life on tenterhooks, but now the star playing the character has revealed a new major hint about season 8.
Hollyoaks reveals how Harry killed Amy in flashback scenes tonight
Jaime escaped execution and blagged his escape at the series finale, after his sibling and lover Cersei desired that the Mountain kill him in the season’s final moments.
Following his lucky escape, the finale scene of the series saw the brother of Tyrion Lannister leaving King’s Landing having covered his golden hand.
Speaking to Esquire, actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau confessed that Jaime must now seek help, perhaps from Jon Snow, to stay alive, saying: ‘He has to get to some sort of commander, whether it be Jon Snow or someone else in charge.’
Then Jaime would stand a chance fighting against the Army Of The Dead because, in actor Nikolaj’s own words, it would ‘suck’ to be killed off.
He went on: ‘You know some of the main characters are going to get turned. There are going to be some blue-eyed main characters running around. And, god, I hope it’s not me. That’s three hours of make-up in the morning.’
However, earlier in the season Nikolaj wasn’t sounding so optimistic about the future of his character.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau said: ‘Jaime is such an idiot that he thinks for a second, “If I can do this, I can win the whole thing in a Hail Mary.”
While he obviously wouldn’t straight-up reveal Jaime’s fate, when asked about his relationship with Cersei potentially causing his demise, he added: ‘It’s not going to end well for Jaime Lannister, I can’t imagine.’
Either way, we’ve still got a while to wait until we find out whether Jaime survives.
