Spartans what is your profession!?… War mostly but what did they really look like? Snapjelly here to give you a look at the weapons and armor that spartans used to wear in this little review.
Debunking the idea that they went to battle naked to show of those abbs and showing you the actual known facts about how it was. Not that I don’t like the 300 movie though.. It’s great but not really realistic lets be honest here. alright i

NOW GREECE IS BEING DEFEATED, BY THE CORRUPTION OF THE EU
AND THE NEW WORLD ORDER
You forgot to say that Spartans were blacks. Get your facts in full.
Somehow, I have a feeling that Boss Fight Studio really did their research for their Spartan Warrior figures.
Spartans were brown skinned Mediterraneans. They mocked the Persians for being so fair skinned compared to them. Fair skin was a sign of femininity in ancient times.
some may have looked similar to that due to the fact that Olympians would join the Spartan ranks and that of the other Greek states
Spartans were Serbs, Slavic origin
I am pretty sure that military training from the age of 7 didn't meant a trained body ^^….
you must be very right, how could you be mistaken ? After all you show us body armor as a "proof"
People need to stop comparing the movie to history because the movie was an adaptation of Frank Miller’s comics book “300”
lol the greeks don't look white on their paintings, but on the movie 300 all the actors were white haha
Little known historical fact – Spartans actually had eight packs.
I WILL DESTROY YOU SNAP JELLY FoR BUTCHERING THE HELLENIC WEAPONS BY RAINING FETA CHEESE ALL OVER YOUR HOUSE!!!!
Greeks of today, Spartans are not your ancestors lol. The descendants of Sparta are long dead. Your ancestors are Iranians lmao. Same as Sicilians, Rome isn't your ancestor, Carthage is. Rome's descendants are scattered across Europe.
Hop-lee-tay, hop-light is incorrect.
you means that movies 3000 didnt happens – I thinks it a reel story
We're you there. Mother fucker. Fuck you

Anyone who takes the movie 300 as any kind of a historical depiction is an idiot. This is not "how hollywood represents" the Spartans it was not supposed to be taken seriously as total fact. It bugs me when so called history buffs argue against it as if they have some kind of great knowledge, you'd be almost equally justified in critiquing lord of the rings: return of the king as a depiction of the siege of Vienna by the ottoman Empire since those events inspired the author. Anyone with half a brain knows that 300 was fantasy, the whole movie was told from the perspective of a great story teller and hell these guys INVENTED modern fantasy. Honestly a true history buff and lover of Greek culture should adore 300 for what it is: an faithfully adapted graphic novel that honored those warriors by telling their story the same way they told stories about their own great heroes, paying homage to the very nature of ancient Greek culture and story telling.
So Rome Total WAr anyone?
they were short as well
Well no shit sherlock!!
Donald Duck speaking?
Lamda stands for Lakedemonia which is Sparta. The name Sparta is for the city, Spartans also were called Lakedemonians.
Lame defiantly not coming back to this channel.
The film was appallingly bad historically. The special effects were awful. Sometimes you can see the computer generated six packs wobble
τι λακτώνια βρε μαλακα 😅😅😅 its Lakoniiiiia not laktonia
Dude quess what?
I'm from Hellas from Sparta!
And very good video! Thumbs up!
Actually the spartans look like me.
Doing a bit of research, googling. The symbol of A on the spartan shields stands for Laconia or Lacedaemon. Which in fact's define's as A region in the southeastern part of the Peloponnese peninsula. Its administrative capital is Sparta. The word laconic is derived from the name of the region by analogy—to speak in a concise way, as the Spartans were reputed by the Athenians to do.
i speak greek
Most things he says are falls
That was not a khopesh that was a falcatta
wait have you been in that greek-persian war so you know what they were wearing which weapons they were using and other stuff please dude….
μαλάκες Αμερικάνοι νομίζουν ότι το "δορυ" είναι είδος "spear" XD
Thanks. Well, researched and presented. It's always disappointing when a movie doesn't take time to do their homework. -Yes, yes, '300' is a heroic/ epic/ fantasy; but, a hero who doesn't put on armour, is going to have a very short career.
spartans*
Battle of Thermopylae numbers 2.000.000 persians against 300 σπαρτανσ + 4.000 other greeks – Battle of Platea 300.000 against 110.000 greeks READ IRODOTOS
They had long hair, beard without mustache, they didn't look like body builders, also at the end of 5th century BC they didnt wear thorax, only red tunic, pilos helmet, hoplon shield and no greaves.
Even the movie "300" made a modern icon of how the Spartans look like, showing male bodies and male nudity as the comic book did. This captured the fantasy and the visions of the public and finally they established Spartans as Zack Snyder show them in the movie. Leonidas body was the complete image of his armour. Good job.
