Has Alec ever made a Zweihander? That would be cool to see!
Да вы у нас батенька еще и поёте ))
im triggered fullers were never for blood it is a myth they were only for structural support and lightening
You need to update this sentence "My name is Alec Steele and I am a 19 year old blacksmith from Norfolk in the United Kingdom." You're 20 now right?
A Fuller is not a blood Groove it's for strength just like the cross section of corrugated cardboard is the same as the cross section of the blade
Thank you Alec. Hi Sam!
Cheers from Tokyo Japan
Really key about this dudes integrity that a fellow employee can be let go but still be friends afterwards..or that's the tone in getting
An idea of something you could forge would be a gauntlet.
Or even something else with joints.
A Box with the following steel: square, round, and twisted metals inside. Fill with flux, drill the hole. Wala! Then sandwich it after your grinding off the box, making san-mai?
To do the initail grinding, you need open an account watcher’s can put money into and purchase a grinding table like seen in other videos that people put their knives and long blades on and it goes back and forth to sand it evenly.
I still think you should collect that steel dust you are making with all that grinding dust.

In the words of everyone who has ever watched Alec’s channel “Workshop goals”
Thank you so much, Alec for rectifying the lack of communication on this. I was stunned at the sudden departure of Sam, and I think this is a much better way to go, with you referencing and recommending his channel. I really appreciate this mature way to proceed. You sir, have my respect!
Funny thing is fullers are hammered in to reduce weight and materials
Business is Business! Sorry to see Sam go, but sometimes tough business decisions must be made 🙂
I thought Sam was already employed as a farrier with his own business and also sold burners? Can understand alex parting ways really as small businesses already are running tight and having someone just to make lunch and the occasional project isn’t exactly cost efficient
Make the hidden blade from assassins creed
Long time lurker first time commentor just curious why your ground the fuller instead of forging it. what are the benefits of doing it either way?
SAMMMMM! :'D Ill have to check his stuff out!
Alec: Thanks for taking the time to address the questions about Sam, and for giving him a good shout-out. I've just subscribed to his channel, and I'm looking forward to checking out his content as well now. And the way you handled the issue in this video in response to all the readers' questions and comments recently just reinforces what a classy guy you really are. Well done. The chemistry was always good between you two in the shop… perhaps we could get you guys to do some collaborations down the road a bit.
Take your ear muffs off, yer shoutin ya fanny! Lol
Yes, remove all negative comments calling you out on your two-faced act going on here on youtube.
it has to be the most civilised, respectful and full of love uncoupling i've ever seen
Alec, I've watched a lot of large blade making before. What most do for their fullers is use a tool they made (looks like two round pieces of metal, set perpendicular, on a U shaped handle) to go down the length roughing it in under a power hammer. Then they grind it smooth after.
Seriously , love your stuff Alec but enough of the Ned Flanders "okalie dokalie" ! SO annoying !
Please forge the Bat'leth of Keyless from Star Trek.
Please don't call it a blood groove. Please, I beg you, in the name of all that's holy in bladesmithing and sword culture, don't call it a blood groove.
sorry to hear about Sam having to be let go.
there was an odd dichotomy in presentation style that I thought worked well.
Alec is so bright and cheerful and Sam was just a normal bloke. by being so normal, even when clearly having fun, he made Alec's exuberance seem even more extreme. a bit like the straight man in the old comedy duos.
music, video and Alec`s craft are masterpiece! really nice "forged" together. love your work guys, keep it up 🙂
you need more clay for the claymore :^^^)
Keep saying blood groove because it's awesome. Too many idiots taking things too seriously.
Ground fullers are the devil. 👿
But he's your sam
…everyone needs a Sam 🙁
1:00 aye alec finally got some tail XD
It looks fantastic!! Great job Alec on the great content and Jamie on the killer edits! Loving them thanks guys!
And thanks for the update on Sam, really appreciate that as well!
