  1. Mel Gibson was also asked to direct Iron Man two years ago. Downey pretty much said if they want me to be in Iron Man 4, I want Mel to direct. So far it has not been announced. That is why people are speculating that Tony will die in Avengers: Infinity Wars.

  2. This really shows that casting is not an exact science and when an actor says no it can sometimes make room for the perfect casting to come in. Also don’t let producers cast, let a casting director do their job!
