  1. Cool. But u left out how Sam let each man believe that he was speaking Maester Aemon's wishes… Each man assumes that Sam had just left from discussing Aemon's preference & it swayed both of their reasoning. Sam can be a tricky lil crow!

  2. Great video! Got to give Sam credit. He may not be the warrior his father wanted, but certainly had the cunning of a born leader! He will have his day, and prove himself in so many amazing ways. He has a big part to play, in the end game. Humble Sam, just needs to believe more in himself! Thanks for revisiting these pivotal moments, when monumental events unfold.

  3. Unfortunately I don’t know if Sam did Jon any favors since he gets stabbed eventually. Sylnt is an ass but not as bad in the books. I never really understood why they were so hot to behead Jon since he held things together while the wall was under attack and he came back with a wound from a wilding. Anyway it is an excellent video as always.

  4. Slynt was the candidate of the throne, that's not to be taken likely as there is the general consensus that the lannisters will win the war. So there really is some logic to everyone wanting to choose him, other that some high ranking nights watch men who were from western houses sworn to the lannisters. The actual problem with Slynt other than being a "snow-hater", is that he is corrupt and a patsy for the iron throne.
Regarding Sam, as you said all this plotting is VERY uncharacteristic for him and it takes a very odd turn of event that actually adds up to sam's dealings and gets jon elected. After doing the pyke-mallister ruse, there's the sudden change of heart of othell yarwick (which is huge) and the incident with mormont's raven and the kettle which seems to be the definitive thing that get's jon elected. All of which seem pretty strange and perhaps even supernatural in a sense.

  5. You left out the epic entrance Jon had with his huge dire wolf whilst people were voting and Mormont’s crow saying “SNOW! SNOW!” That’s what finally tipped the election in Jon’s favor.

  6. I love your videos and have been following you for solid year but I would just give one critique is that I don’t really like the music behind your videos, I know you probably assume I don’t like techno or trance or even classic…. but honestly I feel as if kinda takes away from the audio and to me is kinda distracting, other wise great video! I love book descriptions and you do a great job at presentation! If anything maybe lower the volume just a tad? Idk how others feel but for me it’s a tad distracting

  7. When I first saw the thumbnail, I thought the video was about how Sam (And Gilly) "did it" in the books, and I was thinking "Wow, is this really worth a video"? But yeah… the way Sam rigged the election was great!

  8. There a joke about the Three finger Hobbs who is cook of the watch "Sam ask who are these 3 brother keep voting for Hobbs?"  Answer "They wants Hobbs out of kitchen he terrible cook."

  9. Isn't Dolorous Ed the 1000'st lord-commander of Castle Black, we saw Jon give him the castle after his ressurection (only in the show). Or is Dolorous Ed just taking care of the Wall, or what's left of it.

  10. I love Sams big beautiful brain. They call him a coward but bravery comes in many forms does it not? I hope he does not become a maester he would be a perfect hand of the King or Queen.
