Game of Thrones is actually all about comedy, didnât you know? Hidden underneath all the sex, lies and betrayals is a rich foundation for funnies.
First up, Late Night host Seth Meyers recently compared former Democratic Presidential nominee Hillary Clinton to everyoneâs favorite teenage assassin, Arya Stark. Meyers is a well known Game of Thrones fan, and has often mined the show for material on his late night gig. The Independent provides the video.
Next up, our unabashed love for the Game of Thrones-themed retro talk show Power Hour continues, with two new brilliant episodes. The first one takes place during Stannisâ siege of Kingâs Landing, and features a very drunk Cersei Lannister, an overly positive Sansa Stark, and of course a snotty little Joffrey.Watch below.
âMore like flower hour, right virgin?â And Sansaâs hesitation before praising âour gallant King Joffreyâ is perfect. The folks behind Power Hour clearly pay attention to detail. We applaud the creators, the Los Angeles based sketch comedy group Practical Folks.
And in the second episode, regular host Petyr Baelish returns, and special guest Margaery Tyrell makes an appearance.
If this stuff doesnât make you laugh out loud, check your pulse. Littlefingerâs comment about Margaery giving the public access made me laugh for a solid 30 seconds.
Finally, it turns out System of a Down front man Serj Tankian is a Game of Thrones fan, as the singer made a guest appearance at the Game of Thrones Live Concert Experience. The heavy metal singer gave us a stirring rendition of âThe Rains of Castamere.â Take us out, Tankian.
