Game of Thrones Season 7 was quite a ride, and we got to see the story progress enough to set up the big end. One of the casualties of Season 7 was one of our favorite badasses, Lady Olenna Tyrell. In a recent interview, Diana Rigg, who played the role of Lady Olenna, recently spoke about Game of Thrones, and the end of her character on the show. Read on!

Now, if you remember, Lady Olenna was given a respectable death by Jaime Lannister, who stood by as she willingly drank the poison that he offered her, and left with one of the most memorable dialogues on the show. Speaking to Luxury London, she talked about her role on the show and her end :

“I will miss playing Olenna Tyrell in Game of Thrones, because it was a great part, but all good things come to an end sooner or later, and I think it was about time that the old bag croaked. I’m doing another sort of waspish lady [the Duchess of Buccleuch] in Victoria so I’m carrying on with that particular side of the character in a way.”

Diana has had a magnificent character, and it is absolutely amazing that she could play a character on Game of Thrones that was as much of a badass in its position as Diana has been in her life. She said :

“My highlight of 2017 so far has been the fact that I’ve never stopped working. It’s absolutely brilliant; I’m so grateful.”

Well, we would have loved to see Lady Olenna back in Season 8, but we can’t have everything. In case you’re already missing seeing her, you can check out Victoria, in which she stars as the Duchess of Buccleuch. Talk to us in the comments, down below!
