Game Of Thrones season eight isn’t out until 2019, but we can still look back on the best bits from the previous seven seasons.
Actor Rory McCann, who plays fearsome mercenary The Hound aka Sandor Clegane, was doing just that at Tampa Bay Comic Con this weekend.
When asked what the ‘most emotionally demanding scene’ has been during his time on the show, McCann responded: I would say when the Hound went on the road trip with Arya and he started opening up about what happened to him with his burned face.’
He added: ‘That was a big thing for the Hound because guess what, he never ever told that story.
‘There’s no way he would ever discuss that, especially to a little girl. So it was a massive thing.’
McCann went on to describe the process of bringing Clegane’s emotions to screen.
‘It was quite deep. I was touching on things that I hadn’t done before,’ he revealed.
‘It was a lot of work just to get that wound over. Hopefully it worked.’
Don’t worry, Rory. It definitely worked.
Elsewhere, McCann revealed some of the characters he wishes the Hound had got to kill.
‘First off, I’m not going to say the Mountain,’ he said, pre-empting many fans’ first choice.
Cleganebowl – the epic showdown between brothers Sandor ‘the Hound’ Clegane and Gregor ‘the Mountain’ Clegane – is widely expected to feature in series eight.
Instead, McCann admitted he ‘would have loved to have killed Joffrey’.
Who wouldn’t? But the Hot Fuzz actor has some rather grisly ideas of how he’d have gone about it…
‘It would have been much slower, none of this poison thing. A real slow torture,’ he explained.
‘Me and the Hound have got no time for bullies so yeah, it would’ve been him for sure.’
But Joffrey’s not the only head on the chopping block for Sandor.
McCann also revealed he thought ‘that Littlefinger was a right weasel too.’
