Game of Thrones actor Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson has revealed he eats 10,000 calories each day.
The star, who plays Ser Gregor ‘The Mountain’ Clegane on the HBO show, is also the Word’s Strongest Man and it’s a title he doesn’t take lightly.
Weighing just over 28 stone (400lbs), Hafþór frequently tucks into meals between hitting the gym, telling Business Insider: ‘There’s a lot of eating if you want to stay the best.
‘I have to eat every two hours, I have to fuel my body. And there’s a lot of timing, prepping meals, when I eat them.
‘I think sometimes, “Is this worth it?” I’m always eating, and I’m never hungry. I’m always eating and working out.’
The 30-year-old also revealed what kind of foods he consumes to maintain his stature, adding to the publication: ‘Mostly steak, rice, carrots, with some peppers, sometimes chicken. I eat so much, really. And definitely the hardest part of being in these competitions really is the diet.’
Sometimes he eats five steaks a day to maintain his hench-ness. FIVE!
Hafþór was crowned the World’s Strongest Man back in May 2018 after coming second place for two consecutive years.
He has been competing in the championships for eight years, consistently finishing in the top three positions since 2012 and is the first ever actor to win the award.
At the time, he told his Instagram followers: ‘Want to thank all of my family, friends and fans for supporting me along the way.’
Game of Thrones returns for a final series in April on HBO.
