Season 8 of Game of Thrones is only a few months away, and new spoilers reveal that Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) may not have been lying about her pregnancy after all. As fans will recall, Cersei told Jaime Lannister (Nicolaj Coster-Waldau) last season that she was pregnant with another child.

Many fans assumed that Cersei was up to her old manipulative ways and was lying to Jaime about carrying his child.

A leaked script, however, hints that Cersei was being honest with her brother.

According to Express, the script reveals that Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) cleverly discovered the pregnancy in a scene that caught Cersei completely off guard.

“Tyrion sees what he sees and knows what it means,” the script reads. “She stays silent for too long, long enough to tell him that he’s right.”

The script ends with Cersei not knowing what to say to Tyrion. We have no idea what happened next, but the discovery could have major implications for the final season.

With so many characters looking to take the Iron Throne, Cersei having another child could be important as the series winds down.

That said, the baby puts Cersei in a tricky situation because she can obviously not say that it is Robert Baratheon’s (Mark Addy) child. Although Cersei now has an heir, telling Westeros that Jaime is the father might not go over well.

Exactly how Cersei handles that part of the pregnancy is anyone’s guess, but it definitely adds a layer of complication to the final season.

The revelation also puts to rest the fan theories that argued Cersei was lying about being pregnant in a bid to keep Jaime on her side.

Cersei being truthful could also, however, make Jaime question his new allegiance. Last season, Jaime seemingly sided with Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) and Jon Snow (Kit Harington) as they headed north to face off with the Night King.

Although we do not know how Cersei’s confirmed pregnancy will affect the final season, it will certainly play a part in the story.
