Game of Thrones is just months away and fans are becoming like wildlings as the premiere date grows ever closer.
While fans are dying to see what happens next in the ongoing story, they have been working on various theories on what could happen next.
Lately fans on Reddit have been discussing dragonglass and how it could be the key to defeating the white walkers and the Night King.
Dragonglass was first found in season two when Samwell Tarly (played by John Bradley) discovered a state of it in the north.
The dragonglass weapons were later discovered to be able to destroy white walkers by a mere touch.
Reddit user JosephMc19 recently posted about the substance and how it could effect the upcoming final season.
He asked: “Just thinking out loud, but did they forge any dragonglass arrowheads?
“It was speculated last season by Jorah [Iain Glenn] that if the Night King was killed those he brought to life would drop dead.
“But getting close to the White Walkers in most battles seems highly unlikely. As Tyrion [Lannister, Peter Dinklage] said, it only takes one well placed arrow.”
If the team were determined to kill the Night King in upcoming episodes, a dragonglass arrow could be the most efficient method available to them.
All it would take is a distraction, and for someone to successfully hit the villain with one of the obsidian arrows.
However user TheBrothersClegane suggested a more brutal method of using the dragonglass.
They said: “Imagine wildfire bombs with dragonglass shrapnel dropped from high altitude dragon bombing runs.”
While a collection of bombs may not be likely for the show, the viewers may be on to something.
With a resplendent cache of dragonglass at their disposal, could Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and his team decide to build some brand new weapons to fight the horde of undead?
Alternatively, could owning two dragons have something to do with creating more dragonglass?
If so, they will be able to ask Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) to assist them in creating some weapons.
Daenerys is supposedly going to be dealt a cruel blow in upcoming scenes, however, as the latest clip shows Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) handing over Winterfell to the Queen of dragons.
But fans believe after she says: “Winterfell is yours, your grace,” she will follow up with: “King Aegon.”
This reveal of Jon’s identity may cause a lot of problems for the new couple.
Game of Thrones season 8 will return to HBO and Sky Atlantic in 2019. Seasons 1-7 are currently streaming on NOW TV.
