âChaos is a ladder,â but unfortunately for Petyr Baelish, a.k.a. Littlefinger, he stepped on the wrong rung in the Game of Thrones season seven finale. The master manipulatorâs grand schemes finally caught up to him when the Stark children put aside their enmity and executed him for his many crimes against their family. He was a worthy player for the Iron Throne, but now that heâs off the board someone else will be prove the ultimate victor. But we wanted to know who Littlefinger himself, Aidan Gillen, thinks will emerge as Westerosâ new leader. Could Baelish still come out on top in a world where death isnât always final? Only if there is any winner at all.
Our own Dan Casey sat down with Gillen to discuss his new History Channel series Project Blue Book, but in this Nerdist News Edition, Dan got his thoughts on how HBOâs smash hit might end. His answer might not be what youâd expect, because he thinks the show has evolved into something much bigger than what it was in season one.
Can we even enjoy the last season if Davos isnât eaten by a shark now? No, we cannot. That is unless heâs saved at the last second by Varys the merman. Not even Littlefinger himself could have foreseen that twist.
