The first trailer for Netflix’s Nightflyers has landed, and we can see ourselves losing sleep over it.

The sci-fi series is executive produced by George R.R. Martin, the author of Game Of Thrones books A Song Of Ice And Fire.

Putting the fact we still haven’t got a new Game Of Thrones book aside, the intense trailer promises a nail-biting outer-space horror story.

Nightflyers follows eight brilliant scientists who, hoping to find alien life, embark on an expedition into space with a powerful telepath.

They make their journey on board The Nightflyer, a ship with a small tight knit crew and a reclusive captain.

When violent and horrific events start happening they start to question each other and whether they are meant to survive the journey.

Sci-fi fans have already compared it to The Thing, Aliens and Event Horizon, as it features an extraterrestrial wreaking bloody havoc on a helpless ship’s crew.

We were freaked out by a lot of the outer space goings on in the trailer, but we’ve managed to highlight eight of the freakiest.

The minute a child with a blank stare turns up you know something weird is about to go down. Is she alien or human?

This poor man has found himself at the mercy of some wandering hands – but why? Why is he topless? Is he about to get ripped apart?

We have a feeling this might be the telepath who has been brought on board plugging themselves in to The Nightflyer. Are they the ones hacking into the system to sabotage the journey?

It looks like he’s got a bit of a headache, but we can’t help thinking something is going to burst out of him…
