From Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor to Aamir Khan, here's our cast for a Bollywood version of Game of Thrones

From Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor to Aamir Khan, here’s our cast for a Bollywood version of Game of Thrones&nbsp

Arguably the most popular TV show today is Game of Thrones. Ever since its first season, the show has garnered, critical-acclaim and huge fan base for itself like no other. With less than a month to go for the final season of the show to air, we thought of selecting a list of Indian actors, who could replace the current actors on the show, if Game of Thrones was made in Bollywood instead. So without further adieu, here’s our list:

Ranbir Kapoor as Jon Snow

Jon Snow – Ranbir Kapoor

One of the finest actors in Bollywood today, Ranbir Kapoor is our choice to play Ned Stark’s bastard son or as it has been now discovered, the legitimate son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark. Ranbir will be seen in a similar kind of a role in his upcoming film Shamshera and he is no stranger to being a part of a big cast – just watch Prakash Jha’s Raajneeti and you’ll realise that Ranbir outshined the likes of Ajay Devgn, Manoj Bajpai and may be even Nana Patekar in the film.

Alia Bhatt as Daenerys Targaryen

Alia Bhatt

The first thought that came to our mind when we thought of casting Daenerys Targaryen, is that she has to be played by someone who can portray a headstrong and fierce woman. While Deepika Padukone would have been the obvious choice, as she has done period drama’s before, but we chose Alia because, to play the Dragon Queen, an actress will also have to show her grey side and we feel, Alia will done that better than anyone else.

Kareena Kapoor Khan as Cersei Lannister

kareena kapoor khan

We were torn between Priyanka Chopra and Kareena Kapoor Khan for this one. But we eventually decided on Bebo simply because Cersei, in addition to her coniving nature, is also someone who has excellent on-screen charisma. Which is similar to that of Kareena Kapoor. While Bebo may not be as good and effortless an actress as Alia or Deepika, but her on-screen charisma is unmatched. And we needed an actress of the kind to justify the same screen-presence for Cersei.

Akshay Kumar as Jamie Lannister

Akshay Kumar

The Khiladi of Bollywood was our choice to play Jamie Lannister. Akshay has always been about taking up challenging roles, even today the actor takes risks. Add to that he has the range to play both good and bad convincingly, which Jamie’s character is in GOT – both innocent and sinister. Add to that, Akki’s physical appearance also makes him a perfect fit for the role.

Aamir Khan as Tyrion Lannister

Aamir Khan

Like Akshay, Aamir too has explored positive and negative roles in his long career. But it is his more recent role that has compelled us to believe that Aamir will be the perfect choice to play Tyrion Lannister in Bollywood’s version of GOT. While Aamir’s performance in Thugs of Hindostan wasn’t appreciated by fans or critics,  but the actress has done enough in the past to prove his mettle. Not just that, like Kareena, Aamir too has amazing on-screen charisma, which again is a must for playing Tyrion.

Sonam Kapoor as Sansa Stark

Sonam Kapoor

Sansa Stark is one of those characters, who doesn’t have to do a whole lot in the series, other than looking grim – though that is unfair to say post her scenes with Ramsey Bolton, while he was dying. Nevertheless, Sansa is more about looking like a princess than delivering compelling performance during a dramatic scene. So, Sonam can do that with ease while at the same time bring her acting chops on the table when required. Don’t forget, she has won a National Film Award.

Sara Ali Khan as Arya Stark

Sara Ali Khan

Sara Ali Khan, Bollywood’s latest diva has both the spunk and the acting chops to play Arya Stark. The actress has proved herself, playing a headstrong woman with moral values in Kedarnath. Add to that she also has the fitness to do the action scenes that Arya does in GOT. The actress can certain deliver a dramatic scene with ease and we think will be the perfect choice to replace Maisie Williams in the role.

Sonakshi Sinha as Brienne of Tarth

Sonakshi Sinha

There aren’t many in Bollywood who can portray this character on-screen as well as Sonakshi Sinha, we feel. Not just because of her action chops, but Sonakshi’s physicality is also a convincing factor to cast her in this role. The actress has delivered solid performances in the past and we feel she will do a splendid job playing Lady Brienne.

Prabhas as The Mountain

Prabhas

While even a stuntman can play Sir Gregor Clegane aka The Mountain. But just for argument sake, we would like to cast Prabhas in the role, purely because of his physicality we got to see in the Baahubali films. Don’t forget, before having a helmet at all times, Sir Gregor did have his face for the world to see in the earlier seasons of GOT. Prabhas too, we feel, will have the same screen-presence if not more.

Paresh Rawal as Lord Varys

Paresh Rawal

Paresh Rawal is without doubt one of the finest character actors in this country. His range in playing both sides (a positive role and a negative role) is one of his biggest strengths and makes him our choice to play Lord Varys. Because the character, throughout the series has dwindled between being a postive character and a negative character, depending on the situation. Paresh Rawal too, in his body of work, has proved that he can portray both sides flawlessly.
