After seeing the episode finale of season seven, looking back on this. All of these guys deserved what they got when they killed Jon in cold blood.
There is one positive thing out of Jon being killed. If they never killed him, He never would have been brought back by the Red Lady. Because of Jon returning from the dead, he hanged his killers, left the Night's Watch, reunited with his sister and took back Winterfell, became King in the North.
And now, he meets Daenerys, someone that is his equal in every way and he loves her. He did not expect to love anyone again after Ygritte, he never thought he would find anyone in the rest of his life. That all changed the moment he laid his eyes on Daenerys.
