Game Of Thrones star Maisie Williams has revealed who she wants to see take the Iron Throne in the hotly-anticipated season eight finale.

Speaking at the HBO show’s premiere at New York’s Radio City Music Hall on Wednesday, the 21-year-old actress, who plays Arya Stark, confessed she wants her on-screen sister to rule Westeros.

‘Sansa Stark,’ she told Extra. ‘I think she’d be an incredible ruler. And I think that she’s, like, so true and so honest and she’s, like, learned so much and I think that she’d be an incredible ruler of Westeros.’

Maisie proved she and Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa, really are real-life BFF’s by adding: ‘And also, like, Sophie’s f***ing beautiful.’

It’s been hot gossip as to who exactly will take the Iron Throne at the end of the series, with theories flying around left, right and centre.

Four characters have sat on the throne since the show began, and some think that no one will sit on the esteemed chair because Jon Snow (Kit Harington) will destroy it, meaning Cersei Lannister will be overthrown.

Meanwhile, researchers from Macquarie University in Australia have analysed all the deaths in the show’s history to reveal that being a woman, highborn and changing allegiances works in favour of survival, meaning that both Sansa and Arya could have a chance at taking it.

Although we’re just gonna have to sit tight to find out what happens in Game Of Thrones’ grand finale, it has been confirmed that season eight has a ‘shocking moment in every episode.’

Hempstead Wright, who plays Bran Stark, explained: ‘Every single episode in season 8 has got a big key moment. That’s not just me hyping it up.’

We are ready.

Game Of Thrones returns 14 April on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV.
