The eighth and final season of Game of Thrones is the most divisive in its history, with fans dinging the show for what they see as a frantic pace and unearned character arcs. However, there’s something more insidious lying just beneath it all, hiding in plain sight where many choose not to look: Craft Services.

During Sunday night’s series finale, “The Iron Throne,” not one but TWO water bottles appeared during the scene in the Dragonpit:

This isn’t the first time some modern-day beverage has made its way into a scene this season. You may recall the infamous coffee cup sitting in front of Daenerys in “The Last of the Starks”:

HBO quickly removed that coffee cup from reruns and will probably do the same with the water bottles, but the internet remembers all.

Let’s take a closer look at these bad boys. You can actually see one water bottle next to Ser Davos (Liam Cunnigham) in the shot below:

And then there’s one next to Samwell Tarly (John Bradley) in another:

Look, I’m sure it was warm at the ruins of Italica, where the scenes at the Dragonpit were filmed, and I can’t begin to imagine how hot it is in those costumes, so I understand the need for water, but maybe cleaning these little bloopers up in post-production would have been the smart play, especially since some fans are looking for anything to nitpick and be mad about.

Alternate theory: in the Small Council scene, the group talks about cleaning up King’s Landing water supply. Maybe Sam and Davos were just ahead of the curve.
