‘Taking place thousands of years before the events of Game Of Thrones, the series chronicles the world’s descent from the golden Age Of Heroes into its darkest hour,’ reads the synopsis.
‘And only one thing is for sure: from the horrifying secrets of Westeros’s history to the true origin of the White Walkers, the mysteries of the East to the Starks of legend… it’s not the story we think we know.’
The prequel wrapped the first episode of the potential new spin-off back in July, with filming taking place in locations such as Belfast and Italy.
Creator George RR Martin spilled some details about how it connects to Game Of Thrones, confirming House Lannister won’t be featured but you can expect some Starks loitering about.
‘The Starks will definitely be there,’ he told EW. ‘Obviously, the White Walkers are here – or as they’re called in my books, The Others – and that will be an aspect of it.’
He added: ‘There are things like direwolves and mammoths.’
Game Of Thrones is available to stream on Sky One and NOW TV.
