Isaac Hempstead Wright has confirmed that the Game of Thrones cast WhatsApp group is officially dead and we couldn’t be more gutted.
The 20-year-old actor, who played Bran Stark in the hit fantasy drama, told the MirrorOnline that the infamous cast group chat which once contained the majority of the member, is sadly now defunct.
‘It’s dead at the moment,’ Isaac said, adding that the chat was ‘petering out.’
Still, maybe a revival is on the cards? We refuse to believe that it’s all over.
While the events surrounding the airing of the final series (cry) earlier this year – as well as Sophie Turner’s wedding – gave the cast cause to reunite, they apparently barely see each other post-Thrones.
For Isaac, who is currently studying neuroscience at University College London, the film industry is a ‘small world’ and the cast often move in the same circles, but their hectic schedules keep them from hanging out.
We’re not crying, you’re crying.
While 2019 saw us say goodbye to the on-screen world of Game of Thrones (at least until the prequel airs!), we still have two of George R. R. Martin’s books to be written.
Could the books have a totally different ending to the show? Isaac exclusively told Metro.co.uk that he’d be ‘gutted’ if the books veered away from the TV show and saw someone other than Bran sit on the Iron Throne.
‘I will be a bit gutted, I think,’ Isaac confessed.
However, the actor was able to see the positives to an alternative ending, saying: ‘What’s nice is the fact the books and the show were able to evolve as their own thing, so George has no obligations to end it in any of the same ways we did.’
He added: ‘That’s quite cool, you’re going to get two alternative endings to Game of Thrones.’
You’re telling us, Isaac.
