Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner named in the UK’s under 30s rich list (Picture: HBO)

Game of Thrones stars made some serious bank, if they were fortunate enough to survive to the final season, and the show has subsequently put Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner among the richest celebrities in the UK under 30.

While the Game of Thrones cast were making peanuts in the early days of the fantasy epic compared to the later seasons, those who did make it to the closing episodes struck gold.

So much so that Robb Stark star Richard Madden, who eventually went on to become one of the most talked about actors in the world and will be raking in millions when he enters the Marvel universe next year, insisted he got paid ‘f**k all’ before the Red Wedding.

The Hollywood Reporter previously claimed the Game of Thrones cast were divided into tiers, which determined their salary.

While the likes of Kit Harington and Emilia Clarke rode high at the top on an estimated $500,000 (£388,000) per episode, Maisie and Sophie were still reaping in the pennies in ‘tier B’ on $150,000 (£120,000) per instalment each – and that’s before seasons seven and eight, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

Maisie has also gone on to launch her own app Daisie as well as her own production company, and appeared in Doctor Who and 2019 X-Men movie, The New Mutants – putting her total net worth at £4.5 million.

As for Sophie, she’s thought to be sitting on £8.5 million after sharing the same pay as her on-screen little sister and real life best pal. However, she also played the lead in X-Men: Apocalypse and dark Phoenix. She’s also the face of Wella haircare.

While their bank balance may make your eyes water, Lena Headey – who appeared in just 25 minutes of the final season – ended up making more than £37,000 per minute for her last few instalments.

Ed Sheeran was ultimately named the richest celeb under 30, nabbing the title from Adele.

Game of Thrones seasons one to eight are available to stream on NOW TV.
