Behind the great success of TV
I didn’t watch game of Thrones as soon as the series debuted. I went to make the decision for a marathon before season six premiered because it would be quite complex on my part not to do that. However, despite always being impressed with the technical capacity of the series, as well as the performance of some actors, the drama was never one of my favorites. I sincerely prefer to see three episodes of Veep in sequence than those movie episodes that game of Thrones has been presenting in its last sighs.
However, I would be cynical with you, the reader, to say that the success of the series does not fascinate me. After all, it is not every year that we have something like this. The last time was with Breaking Bad, but that has not become the worldwide phenomenon that Game it certainly is today. Perhaps we could draw parallels with Lost, but television and society in 2019 are not the same as in 2010, for better or for worse.
Therefore, the Series Mix decided to build a column Backstage quite different from what we traditionally do. It is clear that the lack of information behind the scenes affected our decision. However, we love a challenge.

In the rank of one of the most popular series of the decade, game of Thrones it also attracted the interest of some rather peculiar advertisers. So much so that even before the eighth season opens, the Ashley Madison conducted a survey whose main objective was to find out which characters in the series aroused the most interest from users in committing adultery. Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) was chosen by both men and women if they were able to jump over the fence.
The justification, according to the company, is that the character’s sexuality has been more explored since the beginning of the series. Whether by appearing completely naked, or by the various sex scenes. Ashley Madison listened to 1,011 Brazilian users of the site, on March 20 and 21. The company, it is worth mentioning, is a dating site online that proposes its user to have an extramarital affair.

Dragons are adopted
Have you ever stopped to think about the impact that Daenerys dragons would have on the environment? The prestigious Mathematical Modeling Contest (or MCM in the original), held by a college in the state of Maryland, wanted to answer that question. In a 23-page report, one of the groups began by talking about the caloric needs of dragons (which would be in the millions a day), as well as their rate of growth.
Next, the researchers identified the area that would be needed for the animals’ metabolic needs and whether they would be sustainable. The result was that a single dragon would need 1789x cows, in which x means the minimum number of cows to survive in a single day. In addition, it was said that almost eight hectares of cows would be devoured per day.
So, as cute as they may seem, raising Daenerys’ dragons doesn’t seem sustainable.

The character
When analyzing the success of a series, it would be naive to think that your audience is the only factor that contributes to the profit that a channel has on your product. The Good Place continues on the air at NBC due to its huge success on streaming of the broadcaster. Besides that, Nashville managed to generate a very interesting income margin for ABC at the time, from the sales of its songs on iTunes.
With game of Thrones is no different. According to a survey carried out by the Cuponomia, portal that gathers offers and discount coupons from e-commerce, shows that in the month of April, demand online by shirts in the series increased by 105%, among Brazilian users, compared to last month. Searches for mugs with the themes of epic drama grew even more after the launch of the new season, with an increase of approximately 200% in searches for e-commerce.
