The past two decades saw the rise of superhero movies on the box office that made millions. These movies are the trendsetters now, we often see fans debating online which franchise is better. The craze for superhero movies is a luring aspect for artists nowadays. (Especially from a big house such as the Detective Comics Extended Universe (DCEU) or the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) ). However, some are not really impressed by the shine and glitter of this industry. Game of Thrones’ Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is one of them.
The veteran actor was asked if he’d like to plan a more permanent move to Hollywood in an interview with the Independent. More specifically, if he’d like to make millions by joining a big production like the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He replied,
“I probably wouldn’t say no, but the thing is, I’ve done one of those green-screen movies, and I don’t find them that exciting. There are a lot of fantastic actors who do a lot of them and I always go, ‘Please take a break – I wanna see you in some of the other movies that you’re so f***ing great in.’ A couple have great characters, but I find most of those movies incredibly boring so I don’t see that happening. But you should never bite the hand that feeds you, I guess.”
That seems like a very Jaime-Lannister-like answer, as he doesn’t really like such movies, but won’t miss up on a money-making opportunity. The actor also revealed he’s done talking about Game of Thrones, displaying his professionalism.
