Artists who have worked for a show have often admitted to feelings of attachment to the set. No matter how professional you are, when you’ve worked for so long on a show, you can’t let go so easily. Game of Thrones’ Jon Snow is easily one of the greatest characters Kit Harington has ever played. No wonder he would want to keep a memento from the set, which HBO refused to give. He recently revealed he wanted to keep Jon Snow’s Long Claw from the show.
In a video recently shared by fans on Twitter, the actor revealed he would have been satisfied even with a replica. But HBO still said no to giving the actor his Valyrian steel weapon. In the clip, Harington sounded quite upset as he admitted, “No, no! I am still writing to them every day!”
He continued, “No, no, they never, they haven’t given it to me. Did you know, it is the one thing I wanted, the one thing.”
Speaking to Men’s Journal the actor admitted he did take something else though. “Actually I didn’t take anything too crazy,” he said. “I kept some of the armour that I use for Jon Snow’s outfit, like the wrist protectors I’ll wear in his costume. I thought those were pretty cool.” Though he probably still thought the sword would have been that bit cooler.
