The return of fancy award shows have seen our fave celebrities bringing their A-game when it comes to the red carpet and Maisie Williams certainly didn’t disappoint.

Rocking up to GQ’s Men of the Year Awards on Wednesday night at the Tate Modern in London, the former Game Of Thrones star looked nothing short of fierce.

Fans will know that Maisie has been rocking a brand new look lately, thanks to her upcoming appearance in new TV series Pistol, which has seen her dye her usually dark hair bleach blonde instead.

Turning heads on the red carpet (or in this case purple carpet) last night, Maisie teamed her newly dyed locks with bleached eyebrows and heavy eye-liner.

It made for one seriously striking look, with the 24-year-old actress stunning in a floor-length black satin dress that came with gold embroidery up the skirt.

Maisie wore her blonde hair in a top knot and had all eyes on her as she headed up on stage to present the Boss Breakthrough Actor award to Kingsley Ben-Adir.

Other winners on the night included Ed Sheeran, Bridgerton star Regé-Jean Page, Line of Duty’s Adrian Dunbar, Sir Anthony Hopkins, England manager Gareth Southgate, Quentin Tarantino and Sacha Baron Cohen.

The star-studded ceremony, which was attended by the likes of Piers Morgan, Laura Whitmore, Maya Jama and even saw a video call from Prince Harry, was hosted by Idris Elba and his wife Sabrina.

Maisie’s appearance at the awards comes as she has been busy filming for Danny Boyle’s Sex Pistols biopic.

Maisie stars as model Jordan Mooney in the upcoming series, which chronicles the early days of the punk icons as they swiftly became the most anarchic band in UK music.

Pistol also stars Toby Wallace, Iris Law, Love Actually’s Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Louis Partridge and Jacob Slater.

Speaking exclusively to Metro.co.uk, Jordan spilled all on what it’s like having Maisie portray her onscreen, as she praised her for doing her research before filming.

‘She’s delighted, she absolutely loves it! Before the first time I met [Maisie], she’d already read my book, Danny Boyle had as well. She’d got some background on me, so she’d obviously done a lot of work that way,’ Jordan said.

‘We’ve had some really good talks about personal things – lifestyle, my childhood, just embellishing on what the book says, really.

‘It’s a credit to her, that’s why she’s become such a good actress, a well-known actress from humble beginnings.’

Jordan added that Maisie has been ‘engrossed’ in filming and felt ‘liberated’ during one scene where she portrayed Jordan riding down the street on a bike topless.

‘She’s so engrossed in it,’ Jordan shared. ‘She sent me a message saying, “I’ve been riding down the street on a bike topless and I feel liberated.”

‘Danny very early on said that’s one of the scenes he wanted her to depict.’

Pistol is currently in production and due to air on US channel FX.
