Game of Thrones prequel series House of The Dragon is fast on its track for a release in early 2022. Fans are familiar with the exotic filming locations that were used in Game of Thrones that made it stand out from the rest of the shows out there. House of The Dragon will be returning to those locations, while also adding new ones, such as some scenic spots in Portugal. While the production of the series is still in progress, as recent leaks from several places in the UK have shown, the Game of Thrones prequel will also utilize shots from some historic places in Spain, some of which we’re familiar with, as they were also used in the original series.
HBO will return to Spain’s Extremadura and the cities of Caceres and Trujillo to film the prequel of Game of Thrones this autumn. Plans have already been made to transform the upper part of the main square of the Medieval hilltop of Trujillo into a street market for the series with filming set to start from October 19.
Local government spokesman, Andres Liceran, described the news as ‘very good’. “It is good news for the economy because the hotels are full and we can share the charms of the city so that in the future many tourists will want to come to Caceres”.
