Emilia Clarke has revealed her brother was on set while she and Game of Thrones co-star Kit Harington filmed their first sex scene.
The British actress, 36, who played Daenerys Targaryen in the fantasy series, was speaking on stage after the release of her new Marvel series Secret Invasion.
And at the Superhero Comic Con and Car Show, she reunited with Kit, who played other Game of Thrones protagonist Jon Snow, during an audience panel.
Though close friends Emilia and Kit often filmed in different countries to each other, their characters eventually met as the story came to a close.
During the series’ seventh season, Jon and Daenerys were introduced and started a romantic relationship, with millions witnessing their first-ever sex scene together.
One of those millions was, in fact, Emilia’s brother, who just happened to be on set on the exact day she began filming one of the show’s most famous sex scenes.
Speaking about her memories of Game of Thrones, she turned to Kit and said: ‘I do remember the day, our sex scene day, and my brother was there.’
When the presenter asked whether she’d just said ‘sexy day’, Emilia clarified that she absolutely meant the day she shot the sex scene with the Eternals actor.
‘My brother was in the camera department and he was on set that day,’ she continued, providing more detail about the awkward moment.
The Me Before You actress then said she tried to get him to leave: ‘It was literally like, “Mate! You’ve got to get him out of here. He’s not allowed to be here!”
After forming a tentative political alliance, Jon and Daenerys give into their feelings, with Jon visiting Daenerys’ quarters in the middle of the night.
As the popular scene plays out, viewers are simultaneously informed that Jon is actually Daenerys’ nephew, thanks to a rather complicated family tree.
Kit’s appearance on the panel was his first public event since the birth of his second child, a daughter, with fellow Game of Thrones actress Rose Leslie.
The couple released a statement saying they were ‘delighted’ with the new arrival, which came five years after they tied the knot in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
