It has been quite some time since the second season of House of the Dragon aired on HBO Max, but the controversies surrounding the show don’t seem to be catching a break. Despite being review-bombed in its second installment, the interest in the Game of Thrones prequel remains sky-high. This can be seen in the fact that it was the most pirated TV show of 2024.

House of the Dragon tops the most pirated list for the second time

Much like Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon has maintained the tradition of being the most pirated TV show with every new season. According to TorrentFreak, House of the Dragon is the most pirated TV on torrent sites in 2024. The Game of Thrones prequel replaces The Last of Us, which topped the list last year. Amazon’s The Boys holds the second at a respectable distance, while Disney’s Shōgun is the hottest newcomer. Here is the complete list of the most pirated shows of 2024:

House of the Dragon Season 3 scripts are still being written

After the controversial posts by George R.R. Martin last year, HBO seems to have responded in a positive way, with the scripts still currently being written (or rewritten). The latest comments come from Tom Glynn-Carney, who plays Aegon, that he hasn’t received the scripts yet. Previously, Matt Smith and Fabien Frankel had confirmed the same. So it might be a while before House of the Dragon Season 3 finally arrives.
