A fan moment added to the script

The line was not originally in the script, but Collett made a special request because it felt essential for the moment. He shared:

“It wasn’t really originally in the script, I actually asked if I could say that. It just felt very, very surreal.”

This small but powerful addition gives Jace a heroic dragonrider moment of his own as he and Baela will take to the skies during the epic naval battle.

This is an important moment for the star because his character has never ridden his dragon into war. It matters to him even more because people around him have always questioned his legitimacy and he wants to prove to them and his mother that he is as reliable as anyone else.

The Battle of the Gullet context

The Battle of the Gullet is expected to open season 3 with massive scale: involving ships, dragons, and multiple theaters of war. Harry Collett and Bethany Antonia (Jace’s betrothed, Baela Targaryen) filmed their aerial dragon sequences on mechanical rigs with wind machines and LED screens. Their photos from this shoot have also come to light. Collett described the experience as intense, comparing it to being on a rollercoaster. Being able to shout the legendary command “Dracarys” during such a huge moment clearly meant a lot to the young actor.
