Straight into the war
Unlike season 2, which spent time building tension and political intrigue, season 3 appears ready to dive headfirst into the full-scale civil war. According to Collett, the season wastes no time getting to the heart of the conflict. This aligns perfectly with the final trailer, which is packed with intense dragon battle scenes, the looming Battle of the Gullet, desperate escapes, and Rhaenyra’s forces closing in on King’s Landing. Fans have been waiting for the war to truly explode, and it looks like season 3 will finally deliver.
What to expect from Jace in season 3
As Rhaenyra’s oldest son and a key member of the Black council, Jace is expected to play a much larger and more mature role this season. He had previously spoken about how Jace will no more take “no” for answer this season during the ATX festival. This suggests that he might go against his mother’s will and command and take matter into his own hands.
With the Battle of the Gullet on the horizon, Harry Collett’s character will likely face immense pressure, personal loss, and major decisions that could shape the rest of the war. However, Collett’s glowing comments suggest he’s proud of the work the cast and crew have put in, hinting at stronger character moments, higher stakes, and more epic spectacle than previous seasons.
