Game of Thrones on PC
The world of Westeros is returning to PC in 2026 with Game of Thrones: War for Westeros, a newly announced real‑time strategy game. Developed by PlaySide Studios in partnership with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, the title was revealed at Summer Game Fest 2025 and promises to deliver large‑scale battles, asymmetric faction strategies, and hero‑driven gameplay. Unlike previous Thrones games, this release is a premium RTS designed to let players rewrite history by commanding armies, forging alliances, and unleashing dragons in the fight for the Iron Throne.
Gameplay factions and features
Players will be able to choose from House Stark, House Lannister, House Targaryen, or the Night King’s forces, each offering unique strategies. Hero units such as Jon Snow, Jaime Lannister, Drogon, and Ghost will inspire armies and shift the tide of battle. Armies include infantry, cavalry, siege engines, giants, and dragons, with asymmetric mechanics ensuring each faction plays differently. Modes range from skirmish battles to extended campaigns across the Seven Kingdoms, with both solo and multiplayer options available.
