Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D season 7 is about to kick off, which means the long-running Marvel series is coming to an end. While it remains to be seen just how the show will conclude, Chloe Bennet assures fans this won’t end like Game of Thrones. Another way of putting it is to say that viewers should walk away feeling satisfied, or at least not angry.

Chloe Bennet, who plays Skye, aka Quake, on the show, has been making the rounds promoting the final season. During a recent interview, the actress was asked if she believes that it’s possible to make everyone happy with a series finale. Bennet indicated that she does think that is possible and that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D will accomplish it to some degree. Here’s what she had to say about it.

“Yes, I do. This is not a Game of Thrones situation. I think fans will be very satisfied with the way that the show ends. There are a lot of endings. There are a lot of people on the show, and there are a lot of ways that it could go. This show has been kept alive by our fans. I think it’s safe to say that everyone was constantly thinking about how to make it more enjoyable, especially for the people who’ve been watching the show since Season 1.”

“It’s part of what I love about it, even down to little wardrobe things for Daisy. For Skye, my color has always been purple, from even the first episode with the purple tee-shirt. Those are little through lines that fans love to engage in, and those are the things that I love to watch in other shows. It’s that thoughtfulness about little aspects that aren’t even spoken about. And so, that’s why the dress at the beginning is purple, even in the ’30s. It’s still a not to that kind of through line, throughout the whole series. There are little things like that, that I think fans are gonna really enjoy.”

When Game of Thrones concluded its run last year it did not go well, to say the very least. Up to that point, the hit HBO fantasy series was one of the biggest shows of all time. It all came crashing down when the final season left a great many fans feeling cheated. Specifically, the finale elicited a vocal, unhappy response on social media. So the fact that Chloe Bennet is using that as a touchstone here is not insignificant.

Season 7 picks up with the gang thrust backward in time and stranded in 1931 New York City. A new Zephyr is set to time-jump at any moment. So, the team must hurry to find out exactly what happened. If they fail, it would mean disaster for the past, present and future. The cast also includes Clark Gregg as Agent Phil Coulson, Ming-Na Wen as Agent Melinda May, Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Jemma Simmons and Iain De Caestecker as Agent Leopold Fitz.

The future of live-action Marvel TV will largely reside on Disney+. Several shows heavily tied to the movies, such as The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and WandaVision, are currently in the works. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D season 7 airs Wednesday nights on ABC. This news comes to us via Collider.
