  1. in the video you forgot the allied hoplites that alexander had behind the phalangites in wedge formation to defend if the line was broke up or a lot enemies attacked from the sides!

  2. For al fucking retards and idiots out there who refuse to recognize the Greekness of the Macedonians, why don't you open your bible and read the book of Daniel where its clearly written By God's own word, that the Bronze belly and thighs of the statue of prophecy, were meant to symbolize Greece!!! and the Greek one horned goat defeated the Median-Persian Ram is a reference to Alexander the Great himself!! Conclusion: God PROPHESIED about the Greek kingdom of Alexander the Great, so God himself calls the Macedonians Greek!!!!

  3. Really good video, but I think you got one detail wrong. Alexander's right, the cavalry, does not engage the opposing cavalry commanded by Bessus straight away. Initially it's a wild good chase futher on the right, orchestrated by Alexander. The charge of the chariots in the center is contemporary to that, immediatelly followed by the charge of the immortals on the phalanx.

The whole point of the wild goose chase is to gain time until the immortals engage the center phalanx. This was the gap Alexander was waiting for: Darius being left unprotected (relatively) in the center. Once the immortals started engaging the Macedonian center, Alexander broke away from his right, charging towards the center looking for Darius, that's when the Macedonian cavalry on the right, combined with the hypaspists, engaged Bessus Bactrians who were dumbfounded by Alexander's move.

The goal of the Macedonian cavalry and the hypaspists on the right was not to rout the opposing side, but to keep the busy long enouhg for Alexander to reach Darius and kill him. Once Darius fled, followed by the reserves, Bessus noticed and withdrew too.

  4. Arrian wrote 1.000.000 persians not only 100.000.

What is the source of your numbers?

50.000 Greeks / 1.000.000 soldiers from all over the persian empire.

Persians had a tradition of assembling huge armies. And this was the most decisive battle for the survival of their empire. Persian empire had the 1/3 of the entire population of the planet back then.
    Battle of Issus = 600.000
    Battle of Gaugamela = 1.000.000
