All eight episodes of a ‘high-octane’ thriller with an A-list cast including Game of Thrones stars are landing on a free streaming service in a few days.

Crime drama Safe Harbor which premiered in the Netherlands earlier this year will be available to watch by UK viewers on ITVX from Sunday, April 20.

It features Game of Thrones actors Alfie Allen and Jack Gleeson, as well as Peaky Blinders’ Charlie Murphy, Hell on Wheels actor Colm Meaney and Maxima star Martijn Lakemeier.

Inspired by true events, Safe Harbor follows gifted hacker Tobias (Alfie) and his best friend Marco (Martijn) as they try to crack into the tech billionaires club.

They’re plucked from obscurity and plunged into the chaos of organised crime when they come across an Irish gang lead by Sloane (Charlie) and her brother Farrell (Jack).

The pair are enlisted to hack into the security of Europe’s largest shipping port in Rotterdam harbour to secure undetected deliveries of drug shipments.

Described in the release as ‘high-octane’ with a cast described in The Irish Times as ‘top-notch’, it’s sure to be a hit with fans, especially if early reviews are anything to go by.

‘I really love the show. Mainly dialogue driven, but the action pieces are really impressive!’ one person, kathrinstoffenstein, wrote on IMDb.

‘The first half of episode one left me wondering where it was going. But from that point onward I was completely hooked. The show is ambitious and has great action.’

Another, William, said: ‘I’m really enjoying this show and I’m on the edge of my seat. This coming from someone who is very critical of TV shows and is very hard to convince to start watching something.’

Some fans aren’t so convinced, with kpyhbcb saying: ‘I had to stop watching after just 20 minutes – this show is nearly unwatchable. The script feels extremely unnatural, with dialogue that comes across as forced and artificial.

‘Every scene is filled with cringe-worthy moments that make you wonder how this ever made it past the development stage.’

Showrunner and Ozark co-creator Mark Williams previously spoke about how the main characters in this show navigate the grey space, with their morality challenged.

‘Gray is my favourite colour,’ he told Variety. ‘We all live in that grey space even though we pretend that’s not the case, and everything is black and white, good or bad.

‘We’re not all one thing or another. And it’s all about finding those characters.

‘Even if Tobias and Marco are a bit on the darker side, they are breaking the law, have relationships with women – some going well, others not so well: they are human.’

Plans have already been outlined for season two (Picture: ITV)

‘It’s about friends who become family,’ he went on. ‘Then you have the big Irish patriarch who wants his kids to be happy, sophisticated, but they aren’t necessarily on that path.

‘He brought them up in a very corrupt and dangerous world, so they are trying to explore that for themselves.’

He also teased to Deadline that plans are in place for a second season, saying: ‘Absolutely, we’ve already created the outline for season two.’

Safe Harbor will be available to stream exclusively on ITVX from Sunday, April 20.
