Game Of Thrones is nearing its end and as super-fans anticipate – or dread – that last ever episode, actor Iain Glen teases that the show ‘cannot please everyone.’
Okay, that’s a hurtful thing to say.
This is not something a Thrones fan wants to hear, to be very honest – but the actor who plays the heroic Ser Jorah Mormont is giving us all a pretty fair warning for further heartbreak.
‘When I read it, I thought it was rather brilliant,’ Glen told The Indian Express. ‘I am a bit of a fan of the series as well, and it satiated my expectation and hopes, I felt (it was the) conclusion… But we will just have to see.’
The big shocker came when he said: ‘You know with something this big like Game of Thrones, you cannot please everyone.’
‘All I can say is that we will be doing what we have done before and the writers have written great episodes. They have had a great strike rate up to now and I am sure that will continue,’ he added.
What does he mean? Will our favourite character die unexpectedly? Are there no happy endings? Does evil truimph?
So many questions!
Thankfully, Glen didn’t dish out any spoilers, which is fab as fans are currently going to extreme lengths to ensure they don’t have their favourite show ruined by know-it-alls.
But the practice doesn’t stop with viewers, as former Thrones actor Rose Leslie, who is engaged to leading man Kit Harrington, admits she is just like the rest of us.
That’s easier said than done for Leslie, though – especially because she lives with the dude that plays Jon Snow, who is currently filming the final season of the HBO show.
Leslie – who starred in GoT as Ygritte until 2014 – has a cunning plan, though, when it comes to avoiding any spoilers about the goings-on in Westeros: she simply sends Kit on his way.
‘With Game of Thrones, I’m like the rest of the world. I’m waiting for the new and final season,’ Leslie told Late Night host Seth Meyers.
‘I remember kind of like over the summer – summer just gone, obviously – the new episodes for the final season were coming through onto [Harington’s] iPad.
‘And I mean, I can read his facial expressions,’ she continued about her fiancé. ‘I didn’t want to know anything that’s going on like, within his eyes or anything like that.
‘So, I sent him packing. I kind of like, boot him out, so he can go to the coffee shop.’
You’ve gotta do what you’ve gotta do, Rose.
