Just sharing my ideas one of my favorite book series, A Song of Ice and Fire by George RR Martin. This video may contain spoilers for those of you who are not up to date with the series. That goes for the HBO show and the books.

I’m just speculating and guessing on some ideas that I have on how future events will transpire in the series. Keep in mind however, I know nothing.

  1. You say you don't think there'll be an Iron Throne at the end, but just look at real life. A lot of the story is based on the War of the Roses, with the Iron Throne being this world's version of the throne of England. That throne hasn't actually gone anywhere, the English monarchy is still very much a thing. It just doesn't hold all that power anymore. You're 100% right that the feudal system they have isn't sustainable and eventually power will be taken back by the people, but I don't think the monarchy will just disappear entirely, it'll be more like what actually happened to England with a monarch that is more of a figurehead with super diminished powers working alongside a parliamentary system. I think that would totally fit the personalities of both Jon and Dany, they each treat noble birthrights as a pretty important thing that should be respected, but obviously aren't satisfied with how the current system works for the smallfolk. Jon even has firsthand experience of a democratic system.

  2. Shade of the evening may be a theft from Dune. But that isn't important.

Red eternal spiritual life. A spirit never passing on, forever addicted to tree. Blue eternal physical existence, never leaving the world, forever addicted to the tree. The trees both lure you in with mind expanding promises and great power. But in the end you can t get away.

  3. Really not saying it to be argumentative. But I'm so tired of democracy propaganda. I'm not saying it's bad. It's a usefull system. But I just hate American democracy propaganda. It's the only country that actually drops nukes and kills hundreds of thousands. Democracy and republic is not the apex of some organizational totempole. The US is a country of unrepentant nuke dropping murderers and it's disgusting seeing them run around the world stealing countries to enslave for oil and resources.

No, I'm not trying to say communism or anything else is better. That's the point. There isn't a better, that s the joke. Everyone killing everyone in the name of their system of government or religion or the resources they can steal.

Yes, I am saying nasty things about the US. Not because I specifically dislike the US, nor because I want to single the US out. I'm just tired of hearing and reading the propaganda. It's just a system. There's nothing special about it. Sheep voting for parties without research isn't special. It's just uneducated people locked into a two party system without any real care for the consequences.

If GRRM lowers himself to USA propaganda I'll burn everything I have related to him. Republic and democracy is nuke dropping murder.

Why would he put in a republic? The freehold was closer to a republic and it enslaved the world. So tired of USA garbage.

  4. Please read. Not related, sorry. I need your thoughts on something. How much can we trust that the crown Rhaegar gave Lyanna was blue winter roses?

I ask because I've been rolling it around in my head and something doesn't makes sense. Blue winter roses only grow in winterfell's glass house, right? So who carried the crown to the tourney? That is such a specific flower, it's Lyanna's flower. Did Whent ask them to bring it? If the first time Rhaegar met Lyanna was the day before when he was tasked to find the laughing tree knight, how did he get that crown in less than a day to Harrenhall to crown her the next day?

Because the crown was made of blue roses, how could the crowning of Lyanna not have been planned weeks before the tourney? Can we prove the type of flower wasn't an embellishment of the story, but was a true historic detail?

  5. Another great video, IdeasOfIceAndFire! I wish I had been there for the live viewing, so I could ask some questions too. 🙂
Incase you read this: Do you think the Faceless Man that carried out the killing of Balon Jayjay was the same man Arya met (The Alchemist/Jaquen H'ghar), or would it have to be someone else?
Do you have any guess as to how many Faceless Men there are out there, as we've only met three different members through Arya? Are they in the tens, hundreds or thousands?

Edit: Mixed up Pate and The Alchemist.
