It sickens me that there are people who say "It's all your choice!" then berate people for making their choice. Even the FDA won't let a gay man give blood if they've had sex with another man in the last 12 months.

I'd hate to be a high school kid today. I still do not approve of any kid over 18 having a cellphone or even access to social media as said subject should be handled with extreme care. There is a certain degree of maturity needed to dabble in these platforms, which are essentially a larger-scale popularity contests.

The over-dependency on social media is hard for adults alone and now kids must police their own opinions lest they become the village idiot and lose all respect overnight. It's hard to imagine how much stress and pressure an underdeveloped mind can feel.

Most people on social media today, I would say, post selfies and pictures of their food to seek approval. This is the age of seeking mass validation. It has already been scientifically proven that lack of likes, friends and followers translates to depression.

Sticks and stones might still break bones but words can be a firing squad execution by the same people one believes to be their "friends and followers."
