Tragic news today people – two of our faves aren’t going to be at ComicCon this year.
Yup, it’s true. After years of attending, the cast of Game of Thrones and Westworld will be absent from the biggest event in a cult show nerds calendar.
We had our We Heart Jon Snow poster planned and everything!
A representative for HBO confirmed the shows’ casts won’t be in a statement that blamed production schedules for their absence.
(Though we reckon it could stop any potential spoilers from spilling ahead of the upcoming episodes maybe).
The statement read: ‘Due to production schedules and air dates for Game of Thrones and Westworld, these these series will not be presented at San Diego Comic-Con this summer.
‘HBO has a longstanding relationship with SDCC, and we are very grateful for the fans’ enthusiastic response over the years. We look forward to returning in the future.’
The annual event, held in San Diego from 19-22 July, has become a hotbed of getting a first taste of top secret comic book and fantasy favourites.
In the past this has included a first look at Marvel movies, character announcement, surprise appearances and Q&As that always spill the tea.
But alas, Game of Thrones will be busy wrapping up their final seasons for the show, and presumably, the team of Westworld will be working on their third season (we guess, seeing as the second season finishes next month).
We guess we’ll just have to put our Khaleesi wig away for another year…
